Bizarre Creations' insanely popular Xbox shooter Geometry Wars has spawned another homebrew game for the Sony PlayStation Portable: ahrimanes' Polygunwars. Not to be confused with 71M's Trigonometry Wars PSP homebrew game, Polygunwars also lets PSP owners play a clone of the popular shooter on their handhelds.Check out a screenshot as well as the download link for the game itself at the full article. |

I know many of you are probably squirming in your seats trying to find the previous Trigonometry Wars article because I said that the previous release was the final version, but 71M just couldn't resist updating his game once more before the NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition closes. There's only 1 day left (on my watch) for the NeoFlash, and our very own competition, so make sure you get your entries in now! We will surely have a huge amount of homebrew for you coming this week as the entries into our competition are revealed. This "final" release of Trigonometry Wars adds diagonal support for the secondary control scheme (uses the buttons to move). In the previous version, you could not move on a diagonal plane, but this new release fixes that issue and other small optimizations. With this being the final release before the competition ends over at NeoFlash, we would like to wish all those who entered - Good Luck! Download: [Trigonometry Wars v8-18] |

71M has made the final updates to his Geometry Wars look-a-like for the upcoming votes for the NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition (2006). This competition will end submissions in less than 4 days, so this update comes in perfect timing. Don't forget that we too have been hosting our very own competition ending soon, so get your entries in soon! The new update to this great game clone offers a new control scheme along with several other additions to the game to improve the overall quality from the first release.

71M's Trigonometry Wars, a Geometry Wars-inspired game, is his entry to the NEO Summer Coding Contest 2006. Those already familiar with the original game will not have a hard time with the 'brew's gameplay, but may hit a minor snag on handling the controls; it takes a little bit of coordination to maneuver your ship around the screen. It is recommended to go easy and have a feel of the controls at first before getting your game on. But, the crazy kids over here at QJ just went crazy with it; bouncing off the walls and shooting everything in view. It's not very strategic, but definitely fun. The left trigger is for the the thrusters while pressing the right trigger will allow your ship to shoot out ammo. Use the analog stick to direct which side you want your ship to face. The triangle button is basically the panic button - it drops a smart bomb to wipe out all enemies when you're getting swamped. Changelog: 1) Game can be paused using START button. 2) Fixed green enemy avoidance. 3) Firing rate has been reduced. 4) HOME button is working again. If only they could make Math this fun. Trigonometry Wars is 71M's entry for the NEO Summer Coding Contest 2006 for PSP Games. Based on the Xbox 360 game Geometry Wars, this is one hell of an addictive game. It's also pretty hard. You have to move your little ship around by firing your thrusters (Left Trigger) and bumping into walls. The Right Trigger is used to shoot, and the analog stick is used to swing your ship to face the direction in which you wanna shoot. The Triangle button lets you fire a smart bomb for those times when you're swamped by enemies. Here are the Hiscore controls :
