In the video game industry, it's important not to rest on one's laurels. Activision probably knows this. In spite of the fact that its Q4 and fiscal year 2008 financial reports have shown encouraging results, the company is already planning its next ventures in the near future. This was evident in the company's recent conference call. More lucrative news follows after the jump. |

By this time, you probably already know that Vivendi and Activision have left the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). That being the case, the companies' names aren't on the ESA's official website. Then again, LucasArts isn't on the site either. Could this mean that it has left the ESA as well? More on this in the full article after the jump. |

It's one thing to look at the past in order to learn from it; it's quite another thing to examine the present and to see which direction you're heading toward. In the light of recent developments, various game industry insiders have taken to doing precisely those things. More reflection ensues in the full article after the jump. |

You've probably cut all your lines to the greater world since you got your copy of GTA4 or Mario Kart Wii, so chances are, you got quite a huge load of backlog to catch up on. Just to name a few... the possibility of MGS being playable in MGS4, Scarlet Witch playing a role in Crisis Core's story, and Derek Zoolander playing casual games. Wait... what?! Time to head to the nearest safe-house! |

Normally, a major event such as E3 would have all the big name companies attending it. This year will be different, though, as five publishers have decided to drop out of the event altogether. Part of the reason may be due to reported bad blood between them and ESA president Mike Gallagher. More on this after the jump. |

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick recently submitted himself to an interview where he said some not very nice things about Electronic Arts. While we can admit that the games giant has had trouble in the past as far as treating their employees are concerned, it's certainly no reason to liken EA to Soul Reaper's Raziel, right? All the details in the full article, as well as the quote itself that Bobby Kotick himself released. |
