Those who've been with QJ.NET for quite some time now might remember the old homebrew game released by coder AdePSP called Deal or No Deal.

Coder amirulrudy12 released an updated version of Deal or No Deal. With this update, the game's firmware compatibility has been increased for custom firmwares 3.xx.

There's this cheat device known as Pimp My Garage for the video game Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. It was the original work of coder ADePSP and just like the name implies, it generates a code to make custom in-game cars. Now, another coder just came up with a similar application this time for GTA: Vice City Stories.

Created by PSP homebrew developer emcp, this application's called Sunshine Customs. It allows users to customize almost every part of a vehicle like wheels, engine, suspension, handling and even effects. Here are the other features provided by the coder:

• Bar (% / number on top of bar)
• CheckBoxes
• Text Slider
• Color Palette
• Picture Slider
• Make Your Own Page In Seconds
• Cheat Related
• Pretty Much Everything in pmg for lcs

There's no documentation attached in the download below for Sunshine Customs. Some of our readers noted that the application doesn't work with custom firmware 3.71 M33.

Homebrew coder Gunner dropped by our forums today and posted that he is currently working on a new application called Frapsp that will allow users to capture and record game video footage. In case you've noticed, that is what exactly AdePSP's ScreenVideo Capture Module does.

However, Gunner added that he's gunning for a proper capture as well as a better and faster application than SVC. Frapsp is still in its early stages but the owner assures that it doesn't freeze the game. The games may run slower at times but he's working on it, Gunner added.

Frapsp currently uses usbhostfs.prx and psplink.prx butt he plans on including usb host into the plugin. Good luck to Gunner on his Frapsp! We are sure that the community will be there the moment you release this application.

It was really quite funny when homebrew coder ADePSP came up with the first version of his PSP Installer. He was like, "I know this is just a simple app so don't flame with me!" Well kiddo, as they say, great things start from small beginnings. And with this updated version, you are sure looking good.

Yep, you read right! He dropped by our own forums today and released PSP Installer v2.

Before we get into the changes, we know we have a lot of new readers nowadays. So for their benefit, this application allows for a much simpler copying of files and folders onto the handheld. You can do this simply by putting the files in the MS_ROOT folder and using the Install.exe to distribute them.

With all that jazz out of the way now, here are the few changes implemented to the 2nd version:

• Now creates stand alone executables for distribution
• Front end allows easy selection of the folder path, picture and readme
• Preview available on front end
• Zip compression on all compiled files
• Progress bar added when installing

The folks at KlmSoftware Network informed us of a new app they've got for homebrewers to check out. If you're a homebrew maker who wants to make his games and apps more accessible to new members of the homebrew community, then you might want to see how well this works with you.

The app is called Homebrew Installer Maker and it's supposed to do just that: turn the assorted files of your homebrew application into an installer that anyone can use. The instructions seem simple enough for a coder to do as well:

• Place all files in the root folder.
  
• Treat that folder as the root of the memory stick.
• Create/Modify the following files:
  

• installerappname.bin ---Edit with notepad and enter your application's name
  
• installerbgimage.jpg ---small 320x170 image of anything you want
  
• installerreadme.txt ---your readme file

• Zip the "install.exe" along with the "installer" and "root" folders and that is it!

Some things to note, however. First, this isn't the PSP Installer app made by ADePSP, though the two are probably very similar in form and function. Second, you'll need to have a .Net Framework that is up to v2.0.50727, or it won't work. We found that out the hard way, so make sure you don't make the same mistake. Lastly, we really hope people don't start a flame war comparing the two applications here. That'd just be a lot of extra work into replacing expletives with words like "chocolate chip cookies" and "shiny rainbows."

ADePSP has just released his uber-simple homebrew app for the PSP which makes copying files and folders onto a PSP a lot easier. All you'll have to do is place the target files in the MS_ROOT folder and distribute with the Install.exe.

Once connected, this app will automatically detect the PSP so that all you'll have to do is click the Install button. However, ADePSP says that this is just a simple addition and can only copy files and folders. In his next release, he'll update the app to include the ability to edit text files on the PSP, and tons more.

Additional notes from ADePSP:

The background image that appears on the installer is simply a file called pic.jpg which you can customize to whatever you like. If you include a Readme.txt file in the same folder as the Install.exe program it will be displayed when the install is complete.

Again, ADePSP knows that this is a very simple app so don't flame him if you guys think that you can do without his PSP Installer. But still, you gotta give him snaps for being generous enough to share even his simple works with the rest of the homebrew community">homebrew community. Some people can't keep a promise even if it bricked their PSPs. But not ADePSP. He promised us a ScreenVideo Capture module that's fully compatible with Dark_AleX's Firmware 2.71 SE-C, and he delivers it today. According to ADePSP, the previous version prevented homebrew loading in the XMB while the SVCPlayer didn't work at all because of the new GAME150 folder.

New config settings:

• PhotoDir: This is the location on the PSP where the screenshot bitmaps will be saved. The default is ms0:/PSP/PHOTO. DO NOT USE flash0:/ OR flash1:/ AS THIS MAY "BRICK" YOUR PSP.
• VideoDir: This is the location on the PSP where the GIF animations will be saved. The default is ms0:/PSP/PHOTO/SVCPlayer. DO NOT USE flash0:/ OR flash1:/ AS THIS MAY "BRICK" YOUR PSP.

This is one of those apps where reading the readme file is an absolute must so go check it before doing anything else.

You know what makes working in the QJ labs cool? Well, aside from the cool people and cool paycheck, we get a chance to read, see, and try out our readers' submitted creations. Some are good, some are really exceptional, and there are...not that good. Hey, we're just being honest here.

But still, just seeing how our mailbox is flooded with tips, magazines, and homebrew sure makes us feel good knowing that you trust us with your creations. Now, we present to you two PSP magazines - the Spanish PSP mag called PSPlayers and the German Blue Heaven mag. Take this as a "thank you" from all of us, for the trust.

Let's kick things off with the Blue Heaven mag. This German mag is in its first edition and it's just too bad that none of us here speak the language. But from what we could understand from it, the mag focuses on PSP homebrew. In fact, it has 33 homebrew reviews which includes of ADePSP's Screen/Video Capture Module v0.3 and Dark_Alex's Custom Firmware 2.71 SE Revision B (both garnered 5-star ratings). Going over the mag only made us feel sad that we can't understand it, as it has great potentials.

The PSPlayers mag, on the other hand, is on its fourth edition. The 142-paged, Spanish treat features a report on Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops and some tutorials. Plus, it also has a feature called PSPlayers Girls. Now that could surely turn a lot of heads.

So there you go, two non-English, PSP mags. We could only hope that some one could give us a full grasp of what they are about. We thank Patrick Pequito for sending the PSPlayers Issue4 and Shoesy for submitting the Blue Heaven mag. Keep up the good work you guys and we hope to hear from you soon!

The time has finally arrived. After thousands of GTA gamers waited in silence after yesterdays 'It's coming' post, cheat device">Edison Carter has gone all out and released the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories Cheat Device for PSP (thanks for the tip Clordio!). The GTA Vice City Stories cheat device helps you along the way in cheating your game, and according to Edison, this version also includes all of the Cheat Maker except for construction mode, with a few of the in-built cheats enabled. This cheat device comes as a PRX install for all DevHook users. All you have to do is run the installer (thanks to ADePSP) and you're off. Please note that it is also possible to flash this to Dark_Alex SE firmwares, although this is not recommended and you will have to figure out how to do so yourself.

So what does the GTA VCS Cheat Device version 2.0 feature? Lets take a look:

• Step Through Walls
• Power Jump
• Screenshot
• Video Recorder
• Step Up/Down
• Inf Health & Armor
• Set Time
• Vehicle Spawns*

Please note that with vehicle Spawns, a lot of the vehicle numbers will crash. When you get into objects like "cellphone", you know it'll crash if you try to spawn that. But a list of what works and what crashes on this new cheat device should be available soon. Here are a few things that Edison Carter said that you should be aware of before you grab the download:

IMPORTANT NOTE: After installing, wait at least 30 seconds before turning off USB or pulling out your memory stick. The PC caches your changes and doesn't write them out until a while later. If your memory card gets corrupt, use chkdsk /f X:. I advise against saving your game after using cheats. Please note that when you spawn vehicles, you are using a game cheat that will lower your criminal rating!

UPDATE: The hard working Edison Carter has released a new version of the VCS Cheat Device, updating it to version 2.0a today. This update adds the ability to teleport to 25 locations, with far more to come in future. As soon as Edison gets all the missions sorted out you can expect the teleportation range to grow, as the east island is a little scarce at the moment. Find the updated download below! A few weeks ago, we featured a homebrew application by ADePSP dubbed as the DevHook ScreenVideo Capture Module. In just a short time, a lot of people were captivated by this nifty application that allows you to record game video footages. So take this major/minor update as a thank you for the support and appreciation from ADePSP and with that aptly said, we present to you ScreenVideo Capture Module v0.3 + SVCPlayer.

The developer mentioned that this new version is a minor and a major update at the same time. Amazingly weird, but let's start with the minor update. The latest release now enables you  to save GIF files in the /PSP/PHOTO/SVCPlayer folder. This paves the way for the major update which is actually the addition of the new SVC Player app that will let you playback those GIF vids that you captured. And for aesthetic purpose, you could also change the skins of the SVC player, some skins were even provided by ADePSP himself.

You should also take note that you should install the new capture.prx as well as the SVC Player homebrew app unlike in the earlier versions of this app when all you have to do is run the install.exe and you're all set. Another thing you should remember is that the SVC player could only support uncompressed GIF playback, so if you edit the file it will no longer work with it. Here's the changelog.
