Akop Karapetyan, otherwise known as uberjack, has released a new version of Caprice32 PSP, his Amstrad CPC emulator for Sony's PSP, bumping it up to version 4.2.0.2. Most notable of all the changes, at least in our opinion, is the save state autoloading feature he's implemented for Caprice32 PSP v4.2.0.2. In any case, below is the full changelog for Caprice32 PSP v4.2.0.2. The changelog for Caprice32 PSP v4.2.0.2after the jump! While uberjack's Caprice32 PSP was a godsend to the retro gamers among us, some were a troubled by the emulator's lack of SNA support. In case you're wondering how uberjack's planning to work on this prob, we've just received word that he's not planning to add the said file support. You can check out the details of the developer's decision over in the full article |

PSP homebrew developer NoRiGoLo dropped dropped by the QJ.NET Forums earlier to let the community in on an interesting project just waiting to viewed, dubbed Recession Maxidemo. This production is neither a game nor an application, but rather is a PSP-based demoscene. A demoscene, for the guys asking, is a computer art subculture that involves creating non-interactive light-and-sound productions that are run real-time on a computer. It was a very popular trend among Amstrad CPC, Atari ST or Amiga systems back in the early to mid-90s, with Recession Maxidemo here meant to be something of a revival of that era. This demo has been confirmed to work on PSPs running on custom firmware 3.40 OE - just load it to your game folder as you would with most other homebrew applications and games, and enjoy the show. Of course, we also invite readers to drop by NoRiGoLo's thread over at the PSP Dev forums here at QJ.NET in case they want to discuss this release. Once you've got him started, there's no stopping him, and it looks like Zx-81 is on a roll! Never disappointing the homebrew scene, the French emulation porting machine has came along to update one of his old favorites. With PSPThom being updated earlier today, Zx-81 has been working hard to bring us yet another great homebrew emulator for the PSP. PSPCAP32 is an Amstrad CPC emulator for the PSP that emulates the Amstrad CPC 8-bit home computer range (models CPC6128, CPC464, and CPC664), and it now features many new options such as the ability to save and load a distinct setting file for each games as well as other file management options. Here's the full changelog for PSPCAP32 v1.1.3 gold edition:
