Hellin over at the QJ.NET Forums is announcing that work has been completed on UltraPandora Installer v1. As its namesake implies, this app will help facilitate easier installation of the PSP's Pandora unbricker battery. More details about this application are available in the full article.

PSP homebrew developer Astaroth visited the the QJ.NET forums earlier to announce the release of Ultra Recovery Pandora Mode Extender v1. This application is capable of launching Dark AleX's Despertar del Cementerio V3, and Noobz and C D's Pandora unbricker. Astaroth further states that the app can do the following:

• Totally graphical estructure
• USB access to: Memory Stick
• USB access to: Flash0
• USB access to: Flash1
• USB access to: Flash2
• USB access to: Flash3
• You can create a complete NAND Backup
• You can create a IdStorage Backup
• You can create a Ipls Backup
• Format option: Flash0
• Format option: Flash1
• Format option: Flash2
• Format option: Flash3
• Restore NAND with Backup
• Restore IdStorage
• You can launch an aplicattion of Memory Stick
• You can launch Update Flasher 1.50 (To install 1.50).
• You can launch Despertar del Cementerio V3 (To install 3.71 M33)
  

Ultra Recovery Pandora Mode Extender v1 is currently designed to run on PSP Fats only, although Astaroth and the rest of the team state they're working towards a PSP Slim-compatible release. Developers Astaroth and Marce82 has just released Ultra Recovery for the PSP, a homebrew that allows users to do a variety of tasks including downgrading their firmware to 1.50. Unlike some of the applications of this sort, it comes packaged with an easy to use Graphical User Interface making it easier for less tech-savvy PSP owners to use.

While the interface is intuitive we found out in our PSP forums that, because of space issues, some more experienced users prefer to use the classic mode of the program which does away with the GUI. Installing the program is pretty straightforward and shouldn't be a problem for most people. Here's a complete list of what Ultra Recovery can do as taken from the documentation of the program:

• Totally graphical Structure
• Access USB to memory stick, flash0, flash1, flash2 and flash3
• Possibility of taking 5 applications in flash1
• Possibility of taking to 5 xmb themes complete in memory stick
• Stick of flash0, flash1, flash2 and flash3 Allows to create a Backup in memory
• Option of format flash1 and creating the necessary folders of the applications flash
• Option of return to firmware 1.50
• Creative of Eboot recovery in memory stick
• Access to the classic Recovery

This won't be the last release of the program though since the developers are planning to revamp the GUI, add support for the 3.71 M33 kernel, include prx compression, and more. Before doing anything, be sure to go over the read me file included with the download to avoid any problems with its installation and usage.

Homebrew coder Marce82, with assistance from marlon_ibz, astaroth, alvyweb, xblade, and moha, just released a new version of pet project Updater Flasher 3.xx UE. The application should be run on your PC (Windows) and not on the PlayStation Portable (PSP) itself. Now on its second version, Updater Flasher has been made compatible with Dark_AleX's custom firmwares 3.10 OE, 3.30 OE and 3.40 OE.

According to the developer, please be sure that no plugin is activated whatsoever as well as the pre-determined configuration of the Recovery. Some of the program's other features have been listed below. Pardon the English though, they were directly translated from Spanish using an online language translator:

• Graphical Aspect of the XMB totally changed (Icons, Sub-Icon, Sources, Bottoms, Sound, Gameboot, Waves, etc.)
• Adapted Icons and English and Spanish Language to the new Functions of the XMB
• Fixed to Failure of mutual incompatibility games PSX when changing the initial sound
• Fixed to Failure Key click of the XMB
• Added new Function in the XMB, Access to the Recovery

• Liberation of Space in the Flash0 (3 Mb)

Take note that Updater Flasher works on the PSP's flash so be sure that you very well know what you are doing. We have to say that even us had a hard time understanding the program at the start simply because it is in Spanish.
