My god, that's a humongous...list. QJ.Net Forum resident owfx dropped by earlier to announce the release of the 3.30oe/3.40oe theme pack (final), a compendium of some of the PSP's more well-known XMB themes for custom firmwares 3.30 and 3.40 OE.Aside from carrying 32 full-blown themes, this pack also carries custom icons, volume bars, font sets, XMBWaves, and a theme flasher in case the users wish to mix-and-match their own sets. We'll provide for a list of the files below in case you guys want to scan what's in the pack. Just make sure to have a bit of space handy when you begin your download - the bundle will go for about 34MB. Enjoy, and make sure to thank owfx via the QJ.Net Forums for making this bundle! And of course, kudos to all the developers who went through the pains of creating all these themes - our hats off to you!

If you don't want to flash a new gameboot to your PSP due to flashing risks, then the amazing Birdman has come up with a way to load a gameboot from your memory stick on Dark_Alex's 2.71 SE Custom firmware. That's right, no more harmful flashing, just a bit of time and you can load your gameboot from your memory stick. All you need is a decrypted 2.71 dump, a hex editor, and you're ready to go. Here's how you do it:

We missed Birdman1. Every time we see "Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law", we can't help but think of him (well, either him or Phoenix Wright). Thanks to Trace, we got word that Birdman1's back and he's got more fontalicious PSP goodness for everyone with Birdman1's Font Pack v11. Unlike v10, which carried 175 different fonts, Birdman1's opted to take out the computer default fonts. All in all, that lessens the filesize somewhat but still gives you 135 fonts to choose from. The sourced page also mentions an additional app that lets you enable or disable the font hack in one go, but we'll leave that up for you to check out. Once again, we'd like to remind our PSP users to be careful with what they're doing when adding new homebrew onto your PSP. Always make sure to check the readme files included with the zipped folder so you know what you're getting into, because we won't be responsible if you brick your PSP by accident, alright? That being said, here is the changelog for v11 of the Font Pack. Don't forget to check the manual!

Let us give you a little background on this story first. A few months ago, Sony presented a few slideshow images during their PlayStation Business Briefing. They said that several things were supposed to be released by the time October's being displayed on our wall calendar. The official first-party camera was supposed to come out last September. Well, so far we have 2.81 firmware, RSS audio, Flash, Chinese font, and GPS/camera library files. This is where the big and obvious question from PSP3D's Birdman1 comes in - WHERE'S THE CAMERA? He gives several speculations as to what might be causing delays. Most interesting is that Sony R&D might be delaying it in light of the new TIFF exploit. They could be taking time to patch up the firmware and the security holes or something. Most likely (and this is what we agree with), is that Sony might be holding back because of the holidays. The PS3 does invade this November, and interest for Sony goods will probably peak. Holiday season equals buying power, and this perhaps is what is causing Sony to delay their first party accessories. Then again they might just be a bit too occupied with the PS3. Birdman1 went on to worry about possible business problems for Sony if they continue to deviate from what they've promised to deliver. Well, we know you guys are tired and probably annoyed already with "doom and gloom" business analyst predictions about Sony losing money. Some of us here at QJ are sort of tired (and confused) with all the bad news too, so we'll just leave the Sony accessory delay issue in your hands. Well? What do you guys think? Does the delay with the PSP Camera mean that Sony's abandoning the PSP? Will this bring them deep doo-doo? Anyway, we're tired of "this is bad for Sony" news, but we guess it can't be helped. It's all over the place; it's like a Pink Elephant in a room, or a fly in your soup, you just have to talk about it. Personally, I don't think this will be bad for Sony, after all they've got a console coming out. They could probably care less... But still, we just want that camera. There's official word on Japan getting the camera. What about us? |

Birdman1 has updated his handy font pack for the PSP. This new version includes over 175+ custom fonts for the PSP's Gui. This tool gives you the ability to change the default PSP font to your liking. With a custom background, and game loading screen, the font pack completes your custom PSP Dashboard experience. If you haven't played around with Fonts on your PSP it would be beneficial to completely read the included ReadMe.txt file and understand the steps required to run this application. If you enjoy this font pack make sure to leave Birdman1 feedback in his forum thread (link below) and tell him what you think. This recently updated version includes:
