PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1 We saw a pretty good crop of homebrew releases during the week, including some updates for a pair of well-received homebrew apps -- Hold+ and PSPdisp -- that haven't been updated in a while. Other standouts for the week are Custom Firmware Enabler and the always-popular gpSP Game Boy Advance emulator. Of course, the new exploit found in Medal of Honor Heroes also got a lot of hits. That's not all, though, so read on for the rest of the PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1With Dark AleX not releasing any custom firmware versions for the official ones Sony has rolled out recently, other dev teams have come up with their own CFW releases. One of the most prolific is the team behind the GEN CFWs, who teased and promptly launched CFW 5.50GEN-B this week. We heard silence gaming-side this week, but hopefully that'll change in the next seven days. This week also heralded the end of the Sony-supported PSOne homebrew program, Net Yaroze. Read on for the rest of the PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1The Japan-only PSP title Evangelion: Jo made waves this week not because of its gameplay or anything, but because of a new anti-CFW feature built into it. It's not exactly new since there have been other PSP games that implemented CFW checks before, but it does drive home the point that developers are taking it into their own hands to keep PSP piracy at bay. Not sure how long the protection on the game will last though. The homebrew scene generally gets fired up even more when stuff like this comes out. Read on for a recap of the week in homebrew.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1The week was a pretty good one for the PSP homebrew scene, punctuated by the release of a new iR Shell. It's not quite the uber cool "advanced multi-tasking" iR Shell just yet, but it does add a couple more features to an already awesome piece of 'brew. The release ratio was still skewed heavily towards the applications, but a couple of good homebrew games did get released as well. Let's get right on down to the rundown!
