RUMOR ALERT! - Image 1Ah, numbers. Sony's already cleared up that 480MHz figure on the PSP Go, but now we have another rumor bringing up more impressive digits that lay in the PSP's future. Eurogamer.es is claiming to have insider sources who say that the PSP2 (note that this isn't the same as the PSP Go) will have a quad-core graphics chip inside its as-yet-unrevealed structure. Resistance: Retribution - Image 1I admit, I have ulterior motives for wanting Resistance: Retribution to get released as soon as possible (new Syphon Filter!), but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate it as what it is: a great-looking game from what is probably the foremost studio when it comes to PSP third-person shooters. Rumor: PSP-4000 in 2009, PSP2 later - Image 1The rumor mill has chucked out another one on the PSP 2.

The rumor now goes that Sony will be introducing the PSP-4000, the successor of the PSP Brite, in late 2009. This will be followed with the release of the next-generation PSP 2 "later."
