Canada's making some waves in the gaming industry as the NPD Group's November numbers reveal that the country has passed CA$ 1.13 billion (US$ 1.11 billion) for their year-to-date revenues. It's nowhere near the US$ 2.63 billion the US chucked out US$ 2.63 billion last month but considering that the Canadian industry rose a staggering 65% from the same period from last year, it's a pretty big achievement and a positive sign that gaming's getting larger than ever. Canada-based interactive entertainment company Ludia Inc. announced today that it will be making a video game adaptation of the famous TV show Hell's Kitchen. For our readers not familiar with it, Hell's Kitchen is a cooking reality show from Granada America that features the quite profane but excellent chef Gordon Ramsey.
You can think of them as Nintendo's Cooking Mama but with a lot of attitude. Anyway, Ludia didn't specify exactly on what platform it will be releasing the new title. However, the press release sent to us did say that it will be released "across all major platforms including PC, console and mobile." "We are thrilled that Granada is entrusting us with the Hell's Kitchen property. The show has millions of viewers, and the game will bring the fun of the kitchen boot camp experience from the TVs to the PCs and consoles of this rapidly growing audience," commented Ludia founder and CEO Alex Thabet. Concrete details has yet to be announced but the video game Hell's Kitchen will also be providing Ramsey's favorite food concoctions for players to print, try out, and share, Ludia added. The title has a wide release date schedule of 2008. |

Word has gone around that Electronic Arts is packing a hefty line-up of games to feature in downtown Los Angeles next week for IDG World Expo's E For All 2007 (EforAll as the organizers say), and its nothing short of a figurative big bang. Tailing behind EforAll's primary exhibitor and the world's superstar publisher is The Simpsons Game (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP, DS) and Rock Band (Xbox 360, PS3). The line-up also includes the following games:

So, you've read the manga, loved the anime and got hooked on the games, but are you ready to see Son Goku and his friends take on the big screen? 20th Century Fox surely is.According to Canadian news site Canada.com, 20th Century Fox has given the go-ahead to three major film productions, one of them being a live-action movie based on Akira Toriyama's brainchild. The movie will reportedly have a budget of no less than US$ 100 million, and will begin production soon with no details as to when it's projected to be shown. The Dragon Ball Z franchise is considered as one of the most popular literary franchises in the world, with deals encompassing print, TV, video games, clothing and toys. Let's hope that this project yields results that will give justice to the legendary series. We'd love to see how the actors will go Super Saiyan on us. |

It takes a certain amount of class for a big development team to admit that they came up short for a game. In this trailer, EA Canada didn't hold back anything and admitted that NBA Live 07 didn't live up to expectations. The good thing about their acknowledgement is that they've set out on a motivated effort to make up for it by revolutionizing the franchise with EA Sports' NBA Live 08.
To prove this, they even sat down with the best NBA Live players online and got their feedback on last year's and this year's offerings. You'll see what happened to the chat in the video below. As you will see, the new features and the older, but improved ones will be discussed. The graphics were also tackled and the commentary got some....well, comments. In any case, check this clip out and tell us what you think. NBA Live 08 is set for the Sony PlayStation 3, PSP, PS2, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and decent Windows gaming PCs. |
