When you're racing at top speed with dirt kicking up all over, chances are, you'll ram or get rammed by someone straight out of the course. If you're lucky, you're just gonna get so much dirt up your windshield that you won't see where you're going, then subsequently wind up outside the course anyway. DiRT 2 let's you see better into that scenario, although in this case, it's gonna be more likely that you'll be the one feeding the others with dust than you eating it.

September is the month to watch if you're a fan of high-octane racing. Codemasters has sent out word announcing the official release dates for the console and handheld versions of Colin McRae: DiRT 2.

I've always wanted to join the Amazing Race, and this is probably the closest chance I'll ever get. Ludia Inc. has announced that they got the rights to develop CBS' reality TV show as a video game across multiple (but still unspecified) platforms. Sounds like they're going to go for some LBP-type of co-op gameplay with a partner.

The events unfolding within the offices of the Need for Speed franchise are certainly faster with more exciting sharp turns and a fuller pack of nitrous boost than any map in their games. When I started writing for QJ I never thought I'd be writing so many depressing news related to the economy, but here we are. News has come in that Electronic Arts' restructuring plans have hit their Black Box studio, with 200 of their 350+ staff laid off.
