Sony PlayStation Portable - Image 1PSP homebrew developer LogiKz dropped by the QJ.Net Forums earlier to announce the release of an application built specifically to run with Cheat Master 0.6c. The app in question is an Easy Installer program, and should make the process of uploading aeolusc's game memory editor/cheat tool prx mod easier for the newer PSP owners out there.

Before you get cracking, make sure to do the following:
  1. Make a folder Called CheatMaster on the root of your memory stick.
  2. Make a folder Called SEPlugins on the root of your memory stick if you dont already have one.
  3. Run the installer, and go to your recovery menu and enable cheatmaster.prx
After following those steps, running CheatMaster on your games (non-homebrew) should be a matter of pressing L+Note ("L" shoulder, Musical Note) to bring up the app's menu. That's all for the moment, though guys can find more info in the bundle's readme, and LogiKz's release thread here at our QJ.Net Forums.

SCEP-CheatMaster - Image 1 SCEP-CheatMaster - Image 2

Developer 2Alien has updated his pet application SCEP-CheatMaster to version 0.7 beta 0417build with support for 3.30 OE-A. This homebrew application is a PSP Custom FW plugin that has been designed to work for the Game/Pop mode, and to set the CPU speed, take screenshots, and restart or turn off the PSP using just the UI. SCEP-CheatMaster is still in beta phase, and the developer admits that there are still some bugs in this app, so he encourages those who'll use this to report them.

Since our last report on this program, a lot of other changes have been made to SCEP-CheatMaster.

Complete changelog:

2007/04/17
  • make it run in 330OEA normally
2007/04/12
  • add a control scheme remapping function in setting
  • Fix some little bug.
2007/04/11
  • Fix the bug that only codes in the first class effect
  • Fix a bug data cant be lock in some game!
  • Fix some little bug in view memory
Installation:
  • Download plugin
  • Extract and take the 2 folder seplugins and SCM
  • Copy scm.prx in seplugins to ms0:/seplugins/ and add ms0:/seplugins/scm.prx to game.txt
  • Go to Recovery
  • Restart your PSP holding R button
  • Enter Plugins and enable the plugin
  • Run a game and try press NOTE key
  • When you see the SCM main panel, go to setting to set the hot-key and assign the buttons
Take note that you need to have at least 24MB free space in your memory stick to perform the memory dump and for the fuzzy search to work normally. As with all homebrew applications, please make sure that you go take caution when installing this to your PSPs. Enjoy.

SCEP-CheatMaster v0.7 - Image 1SCEP-CheatMaster v0.7 - Image 2

Do you guys like the PSP homebrew application SCEP-XMB from developer Poisonhzkj? If you do, then you will also probably like this next one. Another homebrew developer by the name of 2Alien just released SCEP-CheatMaster version 0.7. It is very similar to the first program but with a few changes and improvements.

When SCEP first came out, it caused quite a ruckus in QJ's official forum site and a lot of PlayStation Portable (PSP) users commented that the program is no good. But as we've seen in its latest development, the fans began to understand what exactly SCEP is all about and began to appreciate it as well.

Now, SCEP-CheatMaster v0.7 is the same as that program but the difference is that it was designed to work for the Game or Pop mode. A cheat system has also been implemented which supports raw code. The good thing about this file is that users will not be prompted to write their own goods. The application will do it for you and store it in your handhelds' ms0:/SCM/code.

Lastly, 2Alien understands that a lot are still confused with this program so the coder promised to come up with a tutorial soon. But for those who understand it, the file is available for download below. Enjoy!

pspThe whole community celebrated when homebrew developer par extraordinaire, Dark_AleX finally released 3.03 OE-A. We could name a gazillion reasons why this is one earth shattering good news (duh?!) but for now, we would like to focus on a specific one: the release opened the floodgates to a whole new array of applications we've never even imagined to be possible before.

Take a look at CCQ v1 for example. Developed by coder Max Thrane, this application actually allows for running these three programs instantaneously: CWCheat, CheatMaster, and Quick Power. We know some of you are well versed with these homebrews already. But CCQ saves time and is newbie friendly.

Speaking of which, we don't want to burden our newcomers with stiff and long explanations, so we'll just tell you how to use this app. After unzipping the files and copying all three folders to the root of your memory stick, here's what you should do:

Enable first the plugins by:

  • Power off your PSP
  • Power it on again while holding the Right Trigger down
  • This will bring you to the Recovery Mode
  • Go to Advanced > Advanced configuration > Make sure the "Plain modules in UMD/ISO" is enabled (press X to enable/disable)
  • Go back twice to see the main menu
  • Plugins > Enable all of the plugins by pressing X on each of them (this will change the plugin's status from Disabled to Enabled)
  • Go back once to see the main menu
  • Hit Exit
After that, you could use the application by:
  • Press SELECT button for more then 3 seconds in any PSP/POPS game to bring the CWCheat menu up
  • Press the sound button (at the left of SELECT button) once in any PSP/POPS game to bring the CheatMaster menu up
  • Press HOME+Start to reboot PSP (Rebooting means just that the PSP is restarting the XMB. It will use the normal PSP Bootscreen even if you have configured it to be not shown on startup. This function is good to restart after updating a PRX module on the memory stick. If you want to go to the Recovery Menu use Power Off and start again
  • Press HOME+Select to power off PSP
  • Press HOME+Left Trigger to decrease brightness
  • Press HOME+Right Trigger to increase brightness
It is important for you (whether you're a newbie or not) to follow these steps. We don't want you to be left with damaged PSPs. So with that said, the download link's down there. Feel free to visit the dev's site via our source link below to know more about him and his works.
