Secret of Evangelion - Image 1

If you're an Evangelion fan, would it matter if the content you're viewing would be in English or Japanese? Well, in this case, you wouldn't have a choice, now would you? The Japanese site for Secret of Evangelion (PSP, PS2) is up and running, connected to the NERV systems, and all that.

Gainax and Cyber Front's title is set up for a June 28 release in Japan, and while everyone is suspended in animation for some confirmation of a Western version, the site allows us see what we would be missing. You can check out some character profiles and other screenshots from the game. There's also a rather interestingly appealing "Special" section: sketches of Rei and Asuka looking cute and hentai-y.

Secret of Evangelion packshot - Image 1Another Japan-only anime-based game is getting ready for launch, and this one deals with Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. The game by Cyber Front is titled Secret of Evangelion Portable - a PSP port of the Secret of Evangelion adventure game previously released to the Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2).

Details are a bit sketchy at this point, though PSP Hyper reports that compared to its PS2 counterpart, the PSP version will carry additional CG event scenes, and extra quizzes and mini-games which enable players to unlock more Eva-related art. Translation - more Ayanami pics, Yay! Of course, there's also Asuka...

Japan's Rakuten online store dates the game for a June 28 release for this year, at an estimated price of ¥ 4,080 (US$ 34). Fellow anime/manga fans, set your calendars, and remember to bookmark Play-Asia for this upcoming release... Shanghai-ing a friend proficient in Nihongo might help too.

If this were GQ, women in bikinis wouldn't have shocked me. But this isn't a men's magazine for the PSP at all.

This is the advertisement for the soon-to-be-released game, Korokoro Kollon from Cyber Front. And no, it's not even an MMOE game. Korokoro Kollon falls under the puzzle action genre game for the PSP wherein the player will have to arrange blocks of the same color together. Strangely enough (because of the oddness of the ad or because this is a puzzle game), multiple women in bikinis will be able to play all at the same time via ad hoc mode.

Now, back to the ad. Don't tell me they direly need to promote this game with Japanese women in two-piece swimsuits playing PSPs. Would this make a guy buy the game if he sees the ad? Sorry, but the logic escapes me.

Korokoro Kollon will be released in Japan 22nd of this month. Hopefully, those bikini-clad girls won't come with the game. Or would you rather have those too?
