Homebrew developer team DevInside (composed of Dead Angel, Mad Cupid, and Richard V) just released a new and improved version of Times of War v4.0. If you are not familiar with this game, it is actually a shoot 'em up that features the story of James Mack III and his quest to avenge the death of his best friend. Yep, you read that right. For the uninitiated, Times of War comes with its own background story that should make your gameplay experience a lot more exciting. Anyway, this build was released to make the game compatible with PSP Slim & Lite and custom firmwares that don't load kernel 1.50 (3.71 M33 and 3.60 M33) Other than that, Times of War v4.0 no Kernel 1.50 is essentially the same as the original version 4.0. If you missed our coverage on that, let us refresh your minds on its specific features:

The mind is a terrible thing to waste. That being said, Madcupid of the DevInside team has taken it upon himself to expand our minds a little with the arrival of My Portuguese Teacher v1.0 My Portuguese Teacher v1.0 is actually an app that teaches basic Portuguese words to users. According to Madcupid's description, the app even includes sounds for the words, making it a tool that makes learning easy and intuitive. All you have to do is read the Portuguese word, remember its English equivalent, and try to pronounce the word like the soundbyte does. This also lets you learn the basics of everything from personal pronouns to the names of fruits in Portuguese. Sure, not everyone needs to know Portuguese, but if you've ever wanted a helping hand in learning something new, this is the perfect way to start. Enjoy the PSP application, and if you like it, feel free to visit the source link below and place a vote for it for the NeoFlash Coding Competition! Download: My Portuguese Teacher v1.0 |

MadCupid and the DevInside team (Dead Angel and RichardV) have released Times of War v4.0, an update to the shooter game which they last showed off in July. For those who haven't heard of it, the homebrew game is a straightforward airplane shooting game, where you have to take on a multitude of enemy jets across 14 levels. This latest version of the game has been translated into multiple languages, so there's no excuse to not try it out. In any case, here's the changelog for the game:

If you think this semblance of a peaceful life is going to last, well, then think again. The latest version of the homebrew game Times of War from the DevInside Team (Dead Angel and RichardV) and Madcupid has just been released, and the list of improvements made to version 3.0 is substantial.
In this shoot 'em up game, players are tasked with piloting a fighter plane (Woot for F-15s!) and taking down enemy planes to get through all 14 levels. The changes made to this version though are mostly bugfixes, and only two new features were added - the game tutorial and the "Loading" screen - but these are still very important to make the game more enjoyable. Here's the complete changelog for Times of War version 3.0:

We first introduced you to the PSP homebrew game Times of War last week, now the DevInside Team composed of Madcupid, Dead Angel, and RichardV have released v2.0 of the shoot-em up game. Just in case you have no idea what we are talking about, Times of War tasks you to pilot an F-15 and shoot down the enemy fighter planes in the quest of getting past 14 levels. The devs mentioned that v2.0 isn't a big update, but it is still a very important one because now, the game plays flawlessly. Here's Times of War v2.0's changelog. Changelog:
