Enjoying Duke Nukem 3D on the PSP but can't stand the annoying voice pitch issues? Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew developer MrPeanut has just the thing to give the Duke his manly drawl back, and it's through this newly-released utility that does exactly that. There's a bit of tweaking that needs to be done, but it's as easy as chewing gum. Or kicking ass. Whichever you run out of first.Check out the full article for the entire details. |

Admit it, playing as a pansy would suck even if it was the best video game ever made. That isn't to say having some random well-built guy with a deep voice on screen is enough to make a game fun. In fact, we've seen so many pitiful attempts of trying to make "cool" characters that it's not even funny anymore. Fortunately, there's a handful of really manly video game dudes out there that aren't just made of testosterone and big muscles - they also have the history, personality, and attitude to be considered men among men. In this list are the most epic piles of manly turned video game characters. Are you man enough to take it? 10. Ryo Hazuki - Being manly doesn't mean you have to be some barbaric dude with an axe and a loud voice. As they say, the deep waters are more silent. Ryo Hazuki sounds and acts like your typical quiet guy, but fans of Shenmue know what lies beneath. He's not a womanizer or a jock. In fact, he ditched his cute lover, plays with kittens, and drives forklifts. What makes him so manly, then? Even while facing potentially the strongest organized crime group in China, Ryo is deadset on facing Chiyoumen's leader, Lan Di, to avenge his father. Just like a man with strong convictions, this guy fresh out of high school has left worldy matters behind to do whatever it takes just to get closer to the fiend that killed his dad. Click on for the rest of list, in which we ooze machismo and hose the decks down with testosterone. RAWR! |

So you've got the emulator and you've got the game itself installed on your PSP, using your custom firmware of choice, DevHook, or whatever else keeps your PSP's homebrew heart beating. So what else is missing? The manual, of course! Alright, some of you out there might not actually need the manual in order to play the game, but for the completionists, those who do need the manual, or for those who just simply want to do a bit of reminiscing, then Azumandias has got something for you. He has basically started an archive of sorts where people can download the manuals of their beloved PSX games. At the moment, his archive contains titles like Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross, FFVIII, FFVII, and Dragon Warrior VII. He has also noted that he plans to add new manuals everyday in the upcoming weeks, so if you have a request, better tell him early. I wonder if he'll be putting up Valkyrie Profile any time soon? UPDATE: Now, for those among you who REALLY want to round it all out properly, then our very own Jamie M. has found an archive of Popstation image packs, which we're hoping would make a lot of people happy. The image packs contain icons, wallpapers and overlays with themes ranging from Castlevania: SOTN, Chorono Trigger, Bust-a-Move and Duke Nukem. So, just head over to Pops DB, and get started! With the advent of different PSX games coming to our beloved PSP units, the need for better icons are becoming more relevant. It's true we're all gamers here but sad to say, we are not all artistic. Try as we might, there are those among us that has that unique eye for art and beauty. And so, releasing an icon pack is always and will always be appreciated. Yesterday, we actually shared with you PSX Icon Pack v1.01 from developer Xaniseth. The pack included icons and pictures from titles such as video game franchise Final Fantasy and Tekken. This time, another homebrew developer took it upon himself to provide us with the same kind of goodies. Yay! Synangel just released his first icon pack and boy oh boy, they are looking very pretty and sweet indeed. Just like the others, the files are in .PNG format and are in perfect resolution. This pack should be used with a program similar to Popstation GUI. Game icons than can be found in the package include Duke Nukem, Castlevania, Smackdown, MediEvil and many more.
