case from ElecomWant to keep your PSP clean and scratch free? Elecom has released four new PSP protectors that are kind to the eyes and pretty nifty too. The new PGP-GC series - with two carrying cases and two protectors - was especially designed with the PSP gamer in mind.

PGP-GC001 - is a carrying case that could also hold two UMDs. It's made of a hard urethane material, is lightweight, and has safety bands to protect the PSP from accidentally falling off. The case fastener does not directly touch the portable. This retails at 1,575 Japanese yen (approximately US$ 14).

PGP-GC002 - is a soft carrying case that mainly prevents scratches. The PSP fits snugly into the case. This retails at 1,890 Japanese yen (US$ 16).

PGP-GC003CR - is a hard polycarbonate protector that can be installed easily. The clear case is transparent, so the games can be enjoyed even with the case on. This retails at 1,575 Japanese yen, (US$ 14).

PGP-GC004 - is a silicon protector that comes with a film LCD protector and can be easily installed. This retails at 1,890 Japanese yen (US$ 16).

Elecom hasn't announced whether these would be available in the U.S. soon, but you can check their Japanese site for more info on these cases.

PSP-CS500

Yes, that adorable, pearl finished ball is a powerful speaker in disguise. Elecom's PSP-S700 is perfect for those that would want to share their music or videos with a room full of people ready to bring the house down. Its shape, not only makes it a curious little device, but also makes it easy to carry around. You don't have to worry about the cord getting all tangled up because it has its own special compartment inside the ball. No need to plug it into a power source. Since it's a passive type, it uses the device's power, your PSP in this instance, as its energy source. It could eat up some of your precious battery life, but hey, you used it all in style. It comes in a variety of colors like blue, pink, silver and white. Every color orb to match your outfit or PSP case. Unfortunately, no mention of it being available outside of Japan though. Including tax, it is priced at ¥2,520 or roughly $22 USD.

(Thanks, Flai, for the tip.)
