PSP - Image 1Ok guys, it's finally here. The highly debated PSP Go exploit by FreePlay has been released. Unfortunately, Sony discovered the loopholes of the save game exploit and quickly patched the game (now known as Archer Maclean's Mercury) with the release of PSP firmware 6.20. More after the break.

PSP - Image 1Here's a piece of good news to the PSP homebrew community. Early last month, as some of you may recall, FreePlay has released a video showing us that he has successfully hacked Sony's latest handheld iteration that got everyone buzzing with excitement. Well, now he's back to give us a status update on his project. According to his YouTube channel post, he is now making progress on the exploit with his NID resolver working flawlessly, and if he can get the eLoader source to work, we may have a PSP Go eLoader soon that will allow us to run our favorite homebrews on the PSP Go.

PSP Go - Image 1Yep, you read that right folks. Mere days after its launch and somebody's already hacked the PSP Go. Hold your horses, though! There are a few caveats.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1 The new breed of PSP games may have come protected with the new OFW 5.55, but just because it comes with new security features doesn't mean an old bag of tricks won't work on it. The Medal of Honor Heroes exploit from 5.51 was found to work on the new OFW, so if you have a copy of that game, an eLoader is now in the works so you won't have to worry about 5.55 getting in the way of your homebrew. Also, lots of great apps got updated earlier this week, so be sure to check 'em out as well.

exploit - Image 1Great news guys! It seems that the previously released Medal of Honor Heroes exploit version 2 for firmware 5.51 is also compatible with the latest firmware 5.55 that is currently included in games such as Evangelion: Jo and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Watch the video after the link.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1 We saw a pretty good crop of homebrew releases during the week, including some updates for a pair of well-received homebrew apps -- Hold+ and PSPdisp -- that haven't been updated in a while. Other standouts for the week are Custom Firmware Enabler and the always-popular gpSP Game Boy Advance emulator. Of course, the new exploit found in Medal of Honor Heroes also got a lot of hits. That's not all, though, so read on for the rest of the PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior.
