Konami just announced that it will be releasing two new soldiers for the PlayStation Portable video game Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops+. Since the expansion to MGS Portable Ops heavily relies on online play, the means to get the soldiers involve online skills as well.
Accordingly, players have to stop by Konami's e-Amusement Spots. These can be found at arcades throughout the country. Then, players have to access Portable Ops+'s AP Scout feature to find the soldiers. Two models are available namely Mah-Jong Fight Club and Quiz Magic Academy soldiers. The first model will be available during odd-numbered months such as January, March, and May while the latter can be spotted during even-numbered months (October, December, etc). Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops+ was released in Japan last September 20. There is still no word regarding a concrete U.S. and Europe release. If you want to know more about the above mentioned soldiers, refer to the Read link below. |

In a recent article on Yomiuri Online, it's reported that Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, has officially restricted the use of wireless multiplayer functions of portable game systems - logically for the Nintendo DS, and the Sony PSP. The justification behind the ruling is of course, the same as all the other rules associated with wireless technologies inside airplanes: which is that they might interfere with the cabin equipment. Oh, and if you're thinking that these things aren't really true, and it's just some airplane flight conspiracy or what not (stop watching too much "Fight Club"), then you'd be surprised to know that the Ministry informs that there have been more than 200 reported incidents since 1993 due to interference due to wireless technologies. So there, no messing around with Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops okay? Just stick to LocoRoco. |

It's a sad, sad thing...one of the biggest features of the PSP remains also as the most underutilized. What exactly are we talking about? The handheld's wireless capabilities. Well yeah, we were able to use it with the 8-player Ridge Racer but other than that, there haven't been much knee-buckling games that support the PSP's wireless feature. However, you'll be glad to know that game developers have been working on this because during the TGS, Sony gave out a PSP pamphlet that gives a rundown of the titles that will support the handheld's wireless, online, and Game Sharing features. We have a copy of the list with us, but before we share it with you guys, you should know that these are only 19 of the estimated 34 PSP games on the TGS floor, so no need to go amok if you don't see your favorite title on the list below, okay? Wireless Local Play Only: - Ape Escape Racer - Winning Eleven 10 - Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception - Gundam Battle Royale - Boxer's Road 2: The Real - Dynasty Warriors Mahjong Check out the rest of the article after the jump! |

We previously released a file that contained the list of games
that'll be making an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show. Unfortunately
for most of us who don't have much Nihonggo skills to show for, looking
through that list didn't do us any good. So, here's a list of the games
for the PSP, DS, Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 in English. However, not
every one of these games will be released in North America. It's just
they're in English. Oh you know what I mean. Here's the juicy list.
The full list awaits after the jump! |

A fine Monday mornin' to you lads and
ladies of the fairest kind, we're here with a mammoth interview that
sheds some light on one of my 15 most anticipated PSP games, Dead Head Fred. QJ: When we last saw Dead Head Fred at E3 it was already looking pretty polished, what improvements and additions have been made since then? Peterson: At E3 we demonstrated a level know as Zombietown. What you were able to play was approximately 30 minutes of gameplay within a level that was strictly built for E3 – almost as a tutorial or intro to the mechanics that players will see at the end of our development cycle. This demo gave the player a vertical slice of what the final product will eventually become. Zombietown in the actual game is much larger than and not as linear as the E3 version. We intentionally blocked off roads and passages so that E3 players could get a good idea of what the game was about in a short period of time. What has happened since then? A lot! We’ve been working on mechanics, level design and generation, enemies and mini-activities. Dead Head Fred is a very ambitious game and we plan to deliver on all fronts. We want people to buy a PSP just to play Dead Head Fred. We are currently heading into final geometry and texture stages of the levels, completing second and third passes on the mini-activities, like pinball, Dirty Pool (billiards), the Feather Dome (mutant rooster arena fighting), fishing (you fish for what else – mutant fish! And some unique items are also found while fishing), and so on. As we head into our final portion of development, we will wrap up with game balancing tweaks and cinematics. Come on in and read the rest of the interview after the jump! |
