PSP Homebrew - Image 1An update just went up on PSPGen's site, and in it came the announcement that the much anticipated Custom Firmware 5.03GEN for HEN-B is in the process of being finalized. Said their teaser, "You have a PSP-3000 (or PSP-2000 v3) and official firmware higher than the 5.03? This announcement will make you happy..." Then what are you waiting for!? PSP Homebrew updates - Image 1The much-awaited 5.50GEN-C custom firmware had its share of problems upon launch. There were reports of freezes, although they seemed to be dependent on the PSP model. PSPGEN's MaGiXieN has moved to address these issues as well as announce that work is proceeding on CFW 5.50GEN-D.

PSP - Image 1xDownloader v1.0 is a Cydia-like homebrew application specially made for the PSP, and created by French developer J3r3mie. Looks like he's already beat all the  other drafters of Cydia on the PSP.

STOP THE VIOLENCE! - Image 1Last month's school shooting incident in Winnenden, Germany, opened the floodgates for German government officials to fire criticisms aimed at violent video games. Some have called for tighter restrictions, while others have even demanded for outright bans. Bavarian Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrmann, a frequent critic of violent games, falls in the latter category. In fact, according to GamePolitics, he think that violent video games are pretty much the same as drugs and child porn.
