Puzzle Scape - Image 1

Publisher Got Game Entertainment is happy to announce that PSP-exclusive video game Puzzle Scape has finally shipped to retail stores across North America. The game was created by Farmind Ltd. and has been under development for some time now. Those interested can purchased the title for US$ 19.99.

Anyway, like the name implies, Puzzle Scape is a puzzle-solving game that requires players to arrange blocks of different colors into chains that explode when triggered by 2x2 same-colored blocks. Some of its more remarkable features include 40 scenes of brilliant backgrounds and an original soundtrack of more than 40 songs.

The title is different in such a way that whenever players make blocks explode, vibrant background landscapes will be created represented by four different themes namely Cells, Flowers, Machines, and Dream. Finishing each level, furthermore, unlocks the other themes and different power-ups.

All of Puzzle Scape's modes can be generally categorized as time-oriented and goal-oriented. Players always have the option to take on the missions solo or go head-to-head with a friend via the PSP's wireless connection.

Puzzle Scape has gone gold - Image 1Publisher Got Game Entertainment LLC is happy to announce that the PlayStation Portable (PSP) video game Puzzle Scape has finally gone gold and is ready for mass production. The title is actually the first project of developer Farmind Ltd. and will hit retail stores across North America on June 1.

While Puzzle Scape is not one of the more familiar puzzle games today, we are pretty sure that you are familiar with its gameplay. What you do here is arrange blocks of different colors into chains that are popped by 2x2 same-colored blocks.

Each successful explosion yields vibrant background landscapes in four different themes: Cells, Flowers, Machines, and Dream. Imagine now all those trippy colors coupled with electronic music and we're pretty sure that Puzzle Scape has what it takes to capture and hypnotize players.

Anyway, the above mentioned themes contains ten scenes that will produce 40 equally brilliant levels. The title's modes include:
  • Architect Mode: Time and goal-oriented play
  • Artist Mode: Score-oriented play
  • Both single player modes can also go Co-op via wireless connection
  • Duel Mode: Two players going toe-to-toe (or thumb-to-thumb) in a given time frame
  • Bomb Run: Eight players competing to beat their rivals by destroying a given amount of each of the colored blocks
Puzzle Scape can be purchased starting June 1 for US$ 19.99

The game Puzzle Scape for the PSP will be changing publishers. Got Game Entertainment LLC today announced that it would be taking over the publishing of the Puzzle Scape from O~3 Entertainment for the North American release. While this may be the case, they are sticking with the original developers of the game, the Finnish based Farmind Ltd.

As of yet, no reason has been given for this move, and Puzzle Scape will still remain the same. All the features and gameplay that was originally promised will still be included.

Players arrange blocks of different colors into chains that are exploded by 2x2 same-colored blocks. It will still feature 40 different backgrounds and an original soundtrack of more than 40 songs by rising electronic music artists. Level by level, players will unlock new themes and scenes. The game features two single player game modes, four dual player modes, and the ability for up to eight people to play via the PSP system's wireless functionality.

Puzzle Scape, slated to be released the May at an MSRP of US$ 19.99, it looks as if it's trying to be the top puzzle game for the PSP.

PSPWhen we think the Got Game Entertainment group, the first inclination we may have is their roster of PC productions like Bad Mojo: Redux, or their upcoming titlePenumbra for the PC.

Sure, we like PC Gaming, and Got Game has been expanding further from the initial adventure genre but for the fans out there, there may be hints of a PSP title hitting the horizon soon.

Gamasutra chewed the yarn with Got Game's Howard Horowitz, and aside from topics like Got Game's initial focus of adventure games, and their ongoing genre expansions, they also discussed Horowitz's views on the possible future releases.

With regards to the sort of sales that the company was gunning for, Howard was very confident in Got Game's capability to go mainstream - a point he makes as two of their titles - Barrow Hill: Curse of the Ancient Circle and Atlantis Quest - made it in the same page as World of Warcraft and and Scarface on Target's Christmas catalog.

And moving on to what gamers can expect for the upcoming months, here was Horowitz's heads-up:

Got Game Entertainment has a mixed genre of games for the first half of 2007. The official announcement will be coming soon with all the details, but I can announce we are releasing Scratches: Director's Cut for PC in March, Penumbra: Overture in April, and we just signed a publishing deal for Sony's PSP platform for a mainstream game which will be announced shortly.

While there is no further on their planned project for the PSP, we look forward to seeing just what Got Game may have in store for Sony's portable. For the full details of their past works - you might recognize them - click on the read link.
