Remember that Brush 2.0 teaser video homebrew developer HaxxBlaster posted last month? People beginning to wonder what's been happening so far will be happy to know that HaxxBlaster has just announced the release of a fully functional Brushes v2.0 application. Brushes is a PlayStation Portable (PSP)-based homebrew application which basically allows users to draw and paint on their PSP via a series of brushes. The application can read JPG and PNG formats, which should give some interesting implications for possible future XMB icon set concepts - at least if you're already well-practiced. Moving on to the homebrew's changelog:

Okay, guys. For those of you waiting for this (e.g. pecbear from YouTube's comments), the wait is over. Here's HaxxBlaster's demonstration video of his upcoming Brushes v2.0. For those of you not familiar with this app, here's a quick rundown. Brushes is a drawing application that makes it easy to use own-made brushes, or the included ones. It also uses PNg/JPG to draw with. Now, the actual v2.0 is still not ready, but rest assured we'll be right on it when it gets out. So, keep it posted here for more on this, ayt? HaxxBlaster has just informed us that he has just released the latest version of his drawing application Brushes. This long-awaited update - which brings the version up to 1.5 - includes a new picture viewer (Brushes supports PNG, JPG, and TGA files), a Linetool mode, adjustable effects (you can set them behind or in front of the brush), and an imoprter/overwriter.
Apart from some fine tuning and tweaking to make Brushes a lot easier to use, the Side by Side, Random, and Linetool drawing modes are also now adjustable. You can also use as many brushes and effect as you like without running into any problems. A brushpack containing user-made brushes sent to HaxxBlaster (credits will be included, of course) is also in the works, as well as a thread where everyone can share the stuff they made using Brushes. HaxxBlaster also graciously uploaded a video to show everybody how Brushes v1.5 works. Check it out below. For controls/usage instructions, check the readme file included in the download. If you have any comments of suggestions, head on over to the Brushes v1.5 release thread on the QJ forums by clicking on the 'discuss' link below. The developer that brought us Planet fighter for the PSP, HaxxBlaster, is back today with a small but useful application to allow you to show off your artistic flare using the combination of your PSP and his new homebrew application Brushes v1.0. This program has been coded in Lua and allows you to create pictures using 'brushes' which are in fact images, allowing you to replace the existing brushes with your own images if you wish. All of the brushes you see in the screenshot were made by HaxxBlaster and images saved using this application (Yes, you can save your creations too) will be saved in the universal PNG format to save you memory stick space and compatibility problems. Although the fact that this application uses images instead of just normal colors may put you off, but this app's ability as a drawing tool it is actually quite good. It's smooth and the images come out in a very good quality - even when viewing files created in Brushes on the PSP, so move over MS Paint?!? Download: [Brushes v1.0] Discuss: [Forum release thread] |

It wasn't so long ago that we featured HaxxBlaster's Graphical Vote Table (that non-devs could turn into a Magic 8-Ball) here at QJ. Lua developers have warmly received his work and have given their support and opinion through its release thread over at the forums. The tool by the way, has been very busy since its release, even sparking some ideas for other developers like MexicanSnake (responsible for PSPShootOuts and Lua Wormz). Recently, there has been a report made by delight1 about a bug. Apparently, if you try to make it so that there are no votes, it will freeze. But, HaxxBlaster is quick to react and has immediately gone to work on fixing that bug. Great job HaxxBlaster! Download: [Graphical Vote Table (Bugfix)] Discuss: [Forum Release Thread] |

Heads up to all developers out there. There's a new tool in town. HaxxBlaster, maker of Graphic Creator and homebrews like Planet Fighter and Fire Pong, has made a Graphical Vote Table for every developer's ease, most especially for Lua developers. In his letter he wrote that he wants to spread his program to all the PSP users in the world, and up here at QJ, we love nothing but to grant devs' wishes. Thanks a bunch for sharing HaxxBlaster! In the QJ Forums he wrote: This vote tabel i created, can be used in real time(the stand alone version) or be used in a Lua application. It contains: A stand alone version, wish allows you to cange the values of the votes. A function wish Lua developers can use in theyr Lua applications. Everything is inbuildt in a function, for easy use for Lua developers. Please enjoy! Now, I have to admit, I am no developer, but I still had fun with this tool. I had so much fun that I had to share it with the rest of the QJ crew. We turned it into a Magic 8-Ball of sorts. Somebody asks a question, while playing around with the controls to determine which is the answer to the question. I asked if you should download this helpful tool, and you know how the vote went? Will it be yes, no or blank? A resounding yes. Download: [Graphical Vote Table] Discuss: [Forum Release Thread] |
