Here's a homebrew for the guys who like the occasional mind teaser. PSP developer Highsight over at the QJ.NET forums has recently released MazeGen3D, a Lua game that generates random mazes on your handheld. Players can adjust the maze's height and width up to a certain limit, which should give you a bit of leeway in how challenging you want the mazes to be. After you select the following dimensions, just press X to activate the maze. Keep in mind that MazeGen3D is a lua app - you will need to have a Lua Player application loaded in your PSP to get it running without a hitch. With that said, we do hope you enjoy the download. Also make sure to drop by Highsight's forum release thread for your thoughts on this work in progress. Download: MazeGen3D Visit: QJ.NET PSP Development forums |

Here's a quick little update for Highsight's "much cooler Tic-Tac-Toe from Japan." PSPOmok is now in 1.5 EBoot form. The "music sputtering" issue reported in the first release gas also been cleaned up. According to Highsight, it doesn't show up "until you put about 40ish pieces down." Some music has also been added to the game, and you can add your own by adding a song to the "Songs" folder under the name "Song PSPOmok also comes with four pre-made game pieces and one pre-made board, but Highsight encourages players to try and create their own game pieces and boards. To learn how, check out this previous QJ article on PSPOmok. As usual, don't forget to check the readme file for more in-depth instructions. One of the most highly addictive game genres are puzzles. You gotta admit, the gameplay is real basic, yet there's just something about puzzles that holds our attention at deadlock. To further aggravate this welcome addiction of ours, Highsight has just informed us via our forums about his homebrew puzzle game PSPOmok, which he describes as a "much cooler Tic-Tac-Toe from Japan." The basic objective of the game is to arrange five pieces to go diagonal, horizontal, or vertical. Current game features include Player vs Player games, a 15x15 grid of pure puzzling fun, and - the cool part - customizable pieces and boards. We know you're curious as to how this can be done so let's get to the how-to's now, shall we? Make your own Pieces:
Oh, make sure you check out the readme, alrighty? Download: [PSPOmok] Discuss: [Forum release thread] |
