Dungeon crawlers, rejoice. Or at least... those adept in kanji (plus katakana and hiragana) can, rather. The Japanese website for Dungeon Explorer has just gone live.Only a couple of sections in the site are open - the rest are to follow. Now, I know how to read Japanese just as much as a fish knows how to scale Mt. Everest, but bumbling around the Flash site got me intrigued with the game. For one, I ended up on what seemed like a section for the characters that you can choose from. The screencap I took (over there to the right) shows what I assume to be a warrior/witch class. If you can't read Japanese (much less scale the Mt. Everest), you might want to go on a click-spree if you want. Who knows what you'll bump into as well? That's what the Read link is for! |

We
all know Konami never holds anything back when it comes to big video
game events, and this year's E3 is no different. Just now, the gaming
giant announced nine games that will be showing off some flair under
Konami's belt during the party.Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party for the Wii is sure to dominate the dance floor, along with Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA 22 for the PS2 to revitalize the arcade hit that made players get off their comfortable couch to do some dancing and break some sweat. Featuring crowd favorite songs and new innovative game modes, we expect buckets of sweat and tons of fun. A couple more titles will be hitting the Wii: cutesy water droplet action Dewy's Adventure, and a fishing game Fishing Master developed by Hudson Entertainment. This new bait for angler orgy will feature the use of the Wiimote and Nunchuck as rod and reel, as players utilize different baits to hook up more than 100 fish in their quest to be the Fishing Master. Konami's PSP offering during E3 will include much anticipated Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles from the undying, vampire slaying franchise. We have seen so much from this game that depriving people on E3 of a hands-on experience would be criminal. The mini-sized installment on what is arguably the best psychological horror series there is, Silent Hill, will be hitting Sony's handheld with Silent Hill Origins. Talks of Travis O'Grady trucking over the DS came up a few ways back, but it doesn't look like it'll happen this E3. More on this after the jump! |

When a Hudson Entertainment feature article is subtitled, "An unbiased comparison of two awesome games!" you know something is bound to be wrong. That's the case when someone tries to compare Bomberman for the PSP and Bomberman Act: Zero for the Xbox 360. Now, the feature article tries to compare the merits of the PSP and Xbox 360 versions. According to the feature, the PSP game is blessed with the gameplay features such as taking place over 10 different worlds, and having classic bomberman levels as unlockable features. The Act Zero version, however, seems to be getting the dud criteria for winning points against the PSP version, such as "The bombermen boast over-sized left hands and spherical ass cheeks," and bouncing... things. Of course, Bomberman Act: Zero does have greater multiplayer functionality, with up to 8 players trying to blow each other up at the same time, but even the author makes a self-referential remark as to how bad the game appears to reviewers. "From outside the industry, losers attack the revised Bomberman" sounds like a very slanted way of talking about the game for an unbiased comparison. In any case, the comparison ends with a draw, saying that you can't go wrong with a Bomberman game. If you take the whole article (and the many reviews online) as an indication, however, you apparently can. Still, there's two good things that come out from the article. First, it doesn't look like the actual view of Hudson, so they may just be thinking of going back to what made Bomberman such a big hit in the first place. Second, it makes for a funny photo comic. What do you think: New Bomberman or Old Bomberman? Why'd you pick one over the other? Let us know! |

Hudson Soft and Konami better have added some redeeming factor to this followup to Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory, which didn't actually made a very good impression on a lot of PSP gamers. Hopefully this one will go a different route.
