Once having a vague May release date, Irem has finally given in to the fans and gave us a definite one - at least, for the region of Japan. In a recent entry made on the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) website, it seems like side-scrolling addicts will be getting a treat in the near future as the organization gave an E rating for Irem's R-Types title for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Portable. So it's been a long wait since the last update from Irem's long-awaited genre-switching of a franchise, but clearly development for R-Type Command is solid and underway. Our latest peek for anything R-Type-related drew up several new screenshots of the new tactical based rehash of R-Type, and though they aren't as large or as revealing of the up-close, 3D combat cutscenes, we'll take what we can get. Japanese video game developer and publisher Irem has come out with some new updates for its upcoming platformer on the PlayStation Portable, Ikuze Gensan. The game's official website has added a few new entries talking about some of the features gamers can expect to see when the game goes live this Spring. One of the biggest additions is the game's ability to support communication play via Ad Hoc mode.
