The MTV Game Awards 2008 has wrapped up and you wouldn't guess which one got the Game of the Year award. Come on, guess. Grand Theft Auto 4? Natch. This year they also gave their first ever Lifetime Achievement Game Award to Hideo Kojima. Well and truly deserved.Vid of Jade Raymond handing the award to Kojima after the link. |

Ryan Payton has just revealed that he's leaving Kojima Productions. After working on MGS Portable Ops and Metal Gear Solid 4, this guy has clearly made a lasting footprint in the history of video game development. Leaving is always a heartbreaking thing, and though he would have been a shoe-in for development on the so-called MGS5 (which he seems to have already confirmed, to a degree), Payton will be taking it easy for now. Y'know how notorious the gaming community could get during this time of the year. But in between rumors and Metal Creed Solid gags, this here QuickPeek 41 is one heck of a colossus. Dark AleX is back, Jade Raymond makes a cameo, and Niko Bellic's got quite a lot of action cut out for him in GTA 4. Mind the Whoopie cushions! Wohoo! |

When you've got some important projects coming up, its important to aim high and go for broke. In Ubisoft's case, the company has raised its fiscal 2007-2008 guidance. The reason: a strong performance on the part of its games. That's the news in general. if you want more monetary details, though, turn to the full article after the jump. |

That's right, Assassin's Creed producer Jade Raymond and Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima went one on one in an interview. Unfortunately, they didn't talk about a cross-over between Altair and Solid Snake. They did discuss about game development, so check out the full article for more details. |

Raymond wants to create a game that will fully take advantage of the benefits inherent to handheld gaming. "We want to make a real plan where you can make a game, you make a book, you know, maybe other types of portable games that have complementary experiences," said Raymond. Currently, the game has only been announced for the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 but Assassin's Creed is also expected to hit other platforms such as the PC. Interestingly enough, GameStop even has a listing of a DS version of Assassin's Creed on its website. Hmm. Buy: [Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360)] Buy: [Assassin's Creed (PS3)] |
