JPong v0.7: new obstacles, modes, effects - Image 1Homebrew developer Jaklub took JPong version 0.6 and gave it some additional content, while beautifying the tribute to Atari's 1972 classic to the satisfaction of Sony PlayStation Portable owners. JPong version 0.7 is a step up for the homebrew game's development, though it could use some love in the lockup resolution department.

JPong version 0.7 includes a new difficulty mode, plus visual treats in content and in the game's overall look and feel, though you'll have to see it for yourself to believe.

Jpong v0.4 - Image 1 Jpong v0.4 - Image 2

Shortly after delivering PSP JPong v0.3 for everybody's perusal on the QJ.NET forums, developer Jaklub once again updates with a new release of his take on Atari's classic game. JPong version v0.4 is apparently going to be Jaklub's last build for the game, although the author did manage to add some much-needed fixes:
  • 2player mode bugfix (2player mode didn't run in JPong 0.3)
  • ball bugfix
  • paddle sprite edited
  • 3 new bgs
  • new music track
Yup, two-player mode is finally working, and we also get some new tunes to play along to. Those interested in providing their feedback may want to visit Jaklub's release thread over at the QJ.NET PSP Development forums.

JPong v0.3 - map selection, music, two-player mode - Image 1 JPong v0.3 - map selection, music, two-player mode - Image 2

Homebrew developer Jaklub puts it best when he said that "Pong will never die out." And with that thought in mind, he dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released another iteration of the 1972 Atari classic. This particular build is titled JPong and is currently on version 0.3.

JPong v0.3 sports the following features among others as provided by the coder: music, sounds, one player and two player modes, pause and map selecting. Regarding the two-player mode, one player is assigned to the D-pad for controls while another can use the triangle and cross to make the paddle go up or down.

Currently, this version packs in two different maps with one looking like your normal tennis court background and the other with a tropical background. Jaklub added that he plans on coming up with future versions with additional features.
