Just how rough a year was 2007 for the Need for Speed franchise? Well, things with Need for Speed ProStreet (PC, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii) got so bad that it forced EA's hand to reform the distribution of manpower in its Vancouver studios. Electronic Arts (EA) already expressed its willingness to acquire other developers under its wing, and its recent aggressive move to buy Take-Two Interactive just showed how intent they are in doing so. However, Take-Two Interactive's Strauss Zelnick and the Board declined EA's offer, even if it was increased after their first refusal.
