You asked for it, and now you're getting it. Polyphony DIgital's Gran Turismo franchise is finally making its way to the Sony PlayStation Portable on October 1. To drum up more interest (as if there wasn't enough already), Polyphony Digital has unveiled the cover of Gran Turismo PSP, which features the Corvette ZR1. The US PlayStation Blog recently asked for some reader questions to be fired off to Gran Turismo PSP's US producers Chris Hinojosa Miranda and Taku Imasaki. Well, they've got the answers back, so let's take a look at some of the stuff they've revealed in the full article.

If you want to know anything at all about Gran Turismo, then Kazunori Yamauchi is your best official source. After all, he's Polyphony Digital's CEO, as well as the producer of all the Gran Turismo games. That's exactly who Jeff Rubenstein of the PlayStation blog came to as he went on interview mode once again to get the latest on Gran Turismo PSP and Gran Turismo 5.

Time for some fun facts! Did you know that the PSP Gran Turismo was supposed to have a different moniker? Yep, they actually considered calling it "Gran Turismo Spyder", revealed Polyphony Digital's prez, Kazunori Yamauchi.

Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed in an interview with Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu that they aren't planning any DLC for the upcoming PSP entry in the Gran Turismo franchise. The same holds true for the cars. Find out why after the jump.

Racing fans who were expecting this year's release of the handheld version of Gran Turismo 4 Mobile will be sadly disappointed. Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi explained that due to the amount of time spent on the PlayStation 3 project for the series it was highly doubtful whether the PSP release of the popular racing title will be rolled out this year.
