While news of actress Emmanuelle Vaugier making an appearance in Need For Speed: Carbon has already been confirmed, an official list of the available cars in the game has yet to be released. As Ryan Seacrest would say, the lines are now open and time to vote for your favorite. No singing stars here, only novice car designers vying for the $2,500 prize as Atari opens the online polls this weekend for the “Be A Car Designer” contest. The  competition aims to create an image of a dream concept car and the winning design (aside from the money) will have the privilege of driving alongside motor legends Lamborghini, Ferrari and Aston Martin as a fully functioning 3D vehicle in Test Drive Unlimited.

Voting started last July 1 and will end on July 10. The winning entry will be determined by the number of valid votes from the public and by checking which one satisfies all of the rules.  We've seen some of them (including the two images above) and picking the best design won't be easy!

Test Drive Unlimited provides a lifestyle and automotive gaming experience with the hottest things on four wheels (and two wheels) to hit the world's roads. It has more than 1000 miles of photo-realistic Hawaiian terrain, a challenging single player game and a a number of online options. The Massively Open Online Racing (MOOR) enables gamers to interact with thousands simultaneously.

There are more than 100 licensed cars and bikes from exclusive manufacturers, each one fully customizable with interior and exterior details and functions to suit every gamer's fantasy. Test Drive Unlimited will be available in September 2006 for the Xbox 360.

Video games developer and publisher Atari just revealed that they will be flaunting their highly anticipated racing game for Xbox 360 and PSP, Test Drive Unlimited, at Max Power Live between 30th June and 2nd July 2006. Tagged as the "ultimate automotive gaming experience", Test Drive Unlimited is set to blow the minds of gamers with its challenging single player game, realistic gameplay, and a host of online options.

Hot rides from world-renowned manufacturers like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Ducati, Aston Martin, Pagani and lots more will be on public display enabling salivating visitors to get their hands on them (provided they don't get some drool on it). Test Drive Unlimited will also be featured on thirty Xbox 360 pods, and a super car will be showcased on the main area. Attendees will have the chance to win an Xbox 360 and white Sony PSP consoles every day of the show.

This is the very first time Test Drive Unlimited, will be on public display allowing visitors to get their hands some of the world’s hottest cars and bikes made by the likes of Lamborghini, Ferrari, Ducati, Aston Martin, Pagani and lots more.

Participants will also have the opportunity of taking home their pictures with Test Drive lovelies (think E3 booth babes) as souvenirs via special ‘Max Power Test Drive Unlimited’ website that is yet to be revealed. They can also win £1000 worth of Ben Sherman gear, a Pyramat gaming chair, High Definition televisions, and copies of the hot racing game.

TDULet's say you have a car designed in your head and you know it's a real winner so you want to unleash it to the world, but you just don't know the proper venue for the grand debut of your car. Well, this might be the venue you've been waiting for: Atari Inc.'s “Test Drive Unlimited – Be A Car Designer”.


In celebration of Design Week 2006, Test Drive Unlimited publisher Atari Inc. lets car enthusiasts, novice designers, gamers, and artists create an image of their dream car. The winning car concept will be featured as a fully-functioning 3D vehicle driving alongside the world's most recognizable cars like the Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Aston Martin in the M.O.O.R. game Test Drive Unlimited. Of course, there's also a monetary prize of $2,500.


The contest has officially begun yesterday. So get those creative juices churning because entries will be accepted only until June 30, 11:59:59pm EDT. If you're not into designing but you are still excited about the prospect of seeing a fresh entry in the car choices for the Xbox 360 and PSP game, have a say in which car wins the contest. Vote for the most imaginative and innovative concept from July 1, 12:00:01 am PDT to July 10, 11:59:59 PST.
