Neo Summer Coding Competition entry: Hamtaro Holidays - Image 1

Homebrew developer Leviadragon who helped develop Triple Triad PSP joined the Neo Summer Coding Competition with Hamtaro Holidays. This quirky game looks to be a contender with its cute graphics and fun gameplay.

Partial as this blogger is to hamsters, it was impossible not to smile as the little hamster ran around the screen reacting to what I was giving it. The game is identical to the Tamagotchi with your pet displaying different moods and dispositions depending on what it was feeling.

Interaction is very simple and you have various tools on the lower left hand corner of the screen to use if you want to feed, play with, or even give gifts to your little rodent. Download the program and try it out especially if you like hamsters or Tamagotchi type games.

Triple Triad PSP - Image 1

Zero-One let us know that he and the rest of the Triple Triad team (Sakya , Peoplechamp, Nedra, Leviadragon, and Sephzero) have released an updated version of their now-famous Triple Triad card game for the PSP.

For those who haven't heard of it, Triple Triad PSP v0.4.21 is a PSP remake of the FFVIII minigame known as Triple Triad. In it, you use place cards on a board in a complex game of tic-tac-toe to have more spaces fall under your control than your opponent by using high-numbered cards to take adjacent territories.

In any case, below is the changelog. Be sure to thank the Triple Triad team for their hard work, and feel free to check our forums for more information on their release. Enjoy!

CHANGELOG:
  • Ingame crashes rate lowered.
  • Forget (and forgive) quitters or crashers: you can now quit in any time after a while in any screen of the matchmaking.Quitters will be logged.
  • Timer to auto leave request after 60 secs. Quitters are logged.
  • Lost money & all the cards? cannot play anymore? added a function to re-initialize your account (cards & money) without loosing Exp. Just enter the shop when you have less than 5 cards in the deck an less than 200 Gils.
  • Problems like session timeout, validation result and that kind of stuff, have been fixed on the server itself on the go.
  • A layer of security has been added, no cheating has been confirmed, a couple of awesome players are owning though
  • Stats now works correctly, and has been syncronized.top 50 works fine now.
  • We have been contacted by contributors to expand the infrastructure to 3 server. Btw we preferred to manage the community on a single server, located in Western USA.
  • to not split people on 3 worlds.
  • Added a location message if an user logout.
  • Card number changed to show equipped cards also.
  • Chat issues has been fixed.BTW,standard messages may not work if someone do not translate them in your own language.
  • Player List has been fixed,no more crappy deformations
  • Invites popup freeze rate lowered almost to 0.
  • Player filters now works (press select while in a location)
  • Triangle show a direct player infos popup while choosing the deck before a match.
  • During match you can see rules.
  • This year is the Final Fantasy 7 10th anniversary,so we managed to added the most loved summon EVER.Is a special and very rare card.
GDR PARAMETERS:
  • When you register now,you will enter randomly in on of the majors world capitals,'cause Balamb's Garden where often full of people and a little too messy.
  • Also, your region is saved for further developements...Regional tournaments anyone?
  • One other thing has been changed is the card cost when selling.
  • We saw there was a lot of difference between users levels, and gils were easy to get (with trading even easier, reselling captured cards). Now we re-calculated the selling ratio to 1/4*Card cost. Card cost depends on your alignment.

Leviaman Zero Neo - Image 1

Leviadragon has added his own entry into the NeoFlash Spring Coding Competition 2007. It's a Rockman clone of sorts, called Leviaman Zero Neo, and it looks pretty snappy.

Now, we're not sure what the story is, but if it's Rockman based, then you're certainly going to have to face some bosses. On the other hand, you can apparently expect a cameo from Mario, if the screenshots below are any indication.

The latest version of the game now has sound and has additional bugfixes to make the game run more smoothly. Now would be a good time to try it out, either on your PSP or, as Leviadragon adds, "on Windows with Last Luaplayer." Enjoy!
