moneytoo in the QJ forums, PSP homebrew developer">Madruscoe (aka moneytoo; the maker of PMP Mod AVC) has informed us about this bit of homebrew news. PMPlayer AdVanCe (PPA) by cooleyes (cooleyes_lf) has been updated. The homebrew application plays PMP files with AAC support. It also has skins, standby, TrueType (TT) fonts, and more features. More importantly, it has an English skin (although you have to do a little tweak to get it):
There are several versions available. There is an EBOOT version for FW 1.5 and an EBOOT version for 2.71 SE and 3.XX OE. There may also be other versions, but the links at cngba.com don't seem to work (you can try - just follow the "Via" link below). The PSP videophiles may want to hear this heads-up, as we announce the latest update to Madruscoe's (aka moneytoo) PMP Mod AVC. Given that the app is a favorite for guys running on AVC converted files, we thought you'd be happy to hear this bit of news, which also makes mention of the new tweaks made to make v1.02M-K easier and faster to work with.

Homebrew coder Madruscoe (aka moneytoo) dropped by our own forums today with an update for PMP Mod AVC. This program is for FW 1.5/OE users for playing AVC converted files with high quality and in full resolution. There are a lot of changes with v1.02M-J, but probably the most important one is a bug fix related to freezing whenever the last (bottom) video is deleted. Long file names for videos can now be deleted, and the no PMP video screen has been fixed. Madruscoe said that the thumbnails are .png files with 96x54 px resolution. They can be created on a PC; they should be correctly named to work with PMP Mod AVC; should a .pos file is generated, .png will be overwritten by a new screenshot. Here are some of the controls as provided by the coder: Analogue stick in filelist:

Whenever there are new homebrew releases for higher firmwares, we always get comments like "How about us 1.5 users?" It's good to know then that moneytoo in the QJ forums, PSP homebrew developer">Madruscoe (a.k.a. moneytoo in QJ forums) keeps on updating his awesome PMP Mod AVC. To those of you who are new to this, the program actually allows firmware 1.5 users to play full resolution, high-quality AVC converted files using the PMP AVC Muxer. Anyway, these are all the changes that happened since the last release: Version 1.02M-I (02.02.07) tuned by Madruscoe:

Yesterday saw the release of madruscoe's revolutionary wireless IR keyboard application, TyDoPad, for the PSP; and now you can get yourself a piece of the pie! That's right, madruscoe has decided to release the source code of TyDoPad v0.01 to allow developers to make their own applications which will support this keyboard, so if you're coding a new application which sends e-mails or something similar, then this may prove useful! The tough nut to crack at the moment is getting this wireless keyboard interpreter to work as a PRX plugin for Dark_Alex's 3.03 OE custom firmware. If someone manages to convert this source code into something which will work as a PRX then any homebrewer running this firmware will be able to use the keyboard at any time - in a UMD game, playing a homebrew game, or most importantly, while browsing the web on your PSP. So this is your calling devs - get to work! Download: [TyDoPad v0.01 Source Code] Discuss: [Forum discussion thread] |

You might be a little confused here. The title says the PSP keyboard has arrived but today the news comes in the form of a homebrew application, not a USB keyboard for PSP. That's because madruscoe (also known as moneytoo from our forums) has managed to create a homebrew application which lets you make short notes and save them as .txt files on your Memory Stick using the Palm(One) Universal Wireless Keyboard. This is the only keyboard supported at the moment and the good news is you can pick them up for around $50 on Amazon and they'll work with your Palm PDA. As homebrew veterans will probably know, this is an amazing feat because accessory giant Logic 3 has been trying to make a keyboard for the PSP for a very long time and has failed because they needed "to acquire certain information and command protocols from Sony for the PSP" which they where unable to obtain. There's another planned PSP Keyboard on the way for Spring 2007, but we haven't heard from the company developing the product, FITC, since August 2006. Once again, the homebrew scene has continued its habit of sticking it to the man - well done to madrusco for this release! We haven't got a Palm Wireless Keyboard handy to test it out, but we're sure that some of you must have one already for a PDA. At this time you aren't allowed to view/open/edit written text and the limit for one note is 4 kB, with the number of notes you can gave only limited by your memory stick size. This is only a beta though, so start expecting a fully-functional PSP keyboard soon. There's even talk in our forums of a prx to accept keyboard input anywhere - in the XMB, in a game or even when playing homebrew. It's a good time to own a PSP! Check out the video below. A new day, a new PMP mod update. Lots of people get to modify their media players, but one mainstay in the homebrew scene (and one whose releases are very much looked forward to by many) is Madruscoe. His PMP Mod AVC allows you to play videos on your PSP in full resolution (and it can support subtitles). Also known as moneytoo in our QJ forums, Madruscoe updated his application once again - uh, correction: twice again. The January 11 releases have these changes:

For PSP neophytes wondering what a PMP Mod AVC is, it's obviously a homebrew app. What it does is it allows firmware 1.5 users to play full resolution, high-quality AVC movie files converted using the PMP AVC Muxer. That in turn means you don't have to upgrade to higher firmwares. Going back to our topic, moneytoo (aka Madrusco) has announced the release of PMP Mod AVC v1.02M_e on the boards. And for those wondering what he tweaked since version "c:" Version 1.02M_e (10.01.07) tuned by madruscoe:

Madrusco (known as moneytoo in the QJ forums) has today proved that you don't need amazing programming skills to give something back to the community. He has released an updated version of the PMP Mod AVC subtitle mod despite describing his own PSP programming skills as 'poor'. Well, they may be poor by his standards but by looking at the changelog, this mod should be very useful for any PMP Mod AVC user. It has some pretty good practical changes. See for yourself...here's the changelog:
