Even though Electronic Arts and Marvel Comics announced that they have plans of making a new fighting game franchise that would follow Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects, it seems that we won't be seeing these plans into a reality. Marvel has just announced that their deal with EA has been terminated. Details of this event in the full article. |

If you're a fan of the Marvel Comic turned film Ghost Rider, then this should press all the right buttons. Marvel's comics has an underlying element to them: death, destruction, and of course bad guys; and Ghost Rider has these in abundance. Riding around on what appears to be the devil's motorcycle as a devilish being and slashing through your enemies with your firepower (literally) cannot be beaten - especially when all of these can be achieved on a portable console. The Ghost Rider trailer shows off the game's impressive fighting and riding modes, some heavy metal music and some amazing graphics - including an array of brightly-colored fighting moves in both CGI and real time gameplay. Riding the motorcycle might remind some of you of the classic PSX game Road Rash, with a slightly more hellish theme. You get to use a fiery chainsaw to know your opponents off their bikes, and if you have played Road Rash then you'll know that it's quite fun. Caution: This trailer contains loud music, even louder sound effects, and an element of hellish demon-slashing Download: [Ghost Rider trailer] |

"Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" from 20th Century Fox and Marvel Comics is the sequel to the 2005 movie Fantastic Four. The actors reprise their roles and new faces will grace the series. Silver Surfer and Nova debuts in this movie. In the trailer, we see an uber cool aerial chase between the Human Torch and the Silver Surfer. Since we still need to do some waiting to do for the actual movie (US release is June 15), you can watch the trailer at the link below. The trailer is available for download for the PSP, iPod Video, and Zune, among other portable video players. The Silver Surfer is an intergalactic herald for Galactus, a powerful being who devours worlds. He arrives on Earth and does so in the worst of times - during Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Sue Storm's (Invisible Woman) wedding. That's the least of their problems as their arch nemesis Dr. Doom returns to do what normal villains do: get revenge and laugh maniacally. |

It's been a while since we had any updates on the Marvel Trading Card Game, so it's good to hear that all of the features we mentioned before - including the lineup of Marvel Comics characters - are still in the game. Cross-platform play between the SP and PC is still in, and DS owners can still use Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection to play against other players online. Local multiplayer is also a go for the DS and PSP.
Also in the works is an online store where you can purchase new packs from the latest Marvel trading card game series. The online store will also let players post cards that they would like to trade. Interested? We've got a couple of new screenshots from the PSP version of the game. Check 'em out below. PSP owners will get their hands on this title on February 27 for a suggested retail price of US$ 29.99. The Marvel Trading Card Game will hit DS and PC platforms on the same month. |

For this quick preview trailer, The Thing battles other things, like burning things, and humanoid cat things, and aliens-stuck-in-web-things. Of course, he gets to show them all who's the King of all Things! Funny how his pants never get ripped or burned, and you never see sticky webbing on his boots. That just goes to show you how great he is! Have fun watching, and expect to hear more about this brawler for the PSP, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii in the coming weeks. Ghost Rider first came to life in the Marvel Comics Universe in 1972 and has sold more than 45 million copies since then. The comic plot features motorcyclist Johnny Blaze who agrees to sublet his body bad-ass demon Zarathos in exchange for the life of his mentor. When under Zarathos’ powers, Blaze's head turns into a flaming skull and his motorcycle into a Hell's Angel Harley-Davidson. Literally. Ghost Rider then moved to TV and will zoom and vroom on the big screen in the upcoming film starring Nicholas Cage. Meanwhile Ghost Rider the PSP game is expected to arrive February next year. The title relies on Marvel Comics stylized action combined with high impact combat and motorcycle action. Ghost Rider will take place in a large variety of scenes and locations with a lot of familiar faces from both the Marvel comic universe and the movie doing guest appearances. If you want more info about Ghost Rider PSP check out the official features below:
Along with the Ghost Rider fact sheet, Sony has released a trailer of theupcoming movie (not the game) formatted for the PSP. You may want to take a look at it as well. Download: [Ghost Rider Film Trailer] |

I know they've announced it the other day, but it's still worth talking about as this "contest" will not end until July 23. Yup, I'm talking about the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Voice-Over Contest. You can be part of this game when Activision finally adds a new character to the Marvel game intended for different consoles. The company is planning to add Namor (a.k.a. Sub-Mariner) and Jean Grey to their roster of playable characters. As a consequence, Activision is now calling for enthusiasts to audition to be the voice of these two Marvel characters (the Bruce Banner voice-over promo has been closed already). Winners will get a copy of the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance game, an Xbox 360, a poster of the game with Stan Lee's signature, a pack of Ultimate Alliance playing cards and a Los Angeles trip for two to meet the producers and to record their lines. The contest will run until the 23rd of July. So, what are you waiting for? |
