Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure - Image 1

If you're one of the PSP owners who had a hard time looking for a copy of Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure when it came out in the U.S. back in February, you'll be happy to hear that the extremely limited supplies of the game have gotten a huge boost.

Mastiff LLC, who localized and published the original Nihon Falcom title, announced today that supply has been increased at a number of retail locations nationwide. Apart from being more widely available in retailers across North America, there's also an extra treat. The suggested retail price of Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure has been cut in half, driving the price down to only US$ 19.99.

"Between the increased availability and the economical price, RPG fans should now have no trouble getting their hands on Gurumin," said Bill Swartz, Head Woof of Mastiff, LLC.

Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure also a monstrous hit - Image 1Mastiff LLC's Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure is indeed proving to be a monster hit in the U.S. as copies of the PSP game is now getting more and more difficult to find. Apparently, since its American release last month, Gurumin has been flying off the video games' shelves, and as a result, there is now a growing shortage.

Says Bill Swartz, Head Woof of Mastiff, "We're thrilled by the enthusiastic response Gurumin has received from the press, and we will make sure gamers in every U.S. city and state are able to experience Gurumin for themselves." As such, Mastiff has now come up with a special e-mail box for you guys out there who have yet to get their hands on the game. What this will do is to help you find a local retailer with Gurumin in stock. If not, then the site will also be providing other means for you to get it.

Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure, has been compared to Nintendo's Zelda, and is in fact touted as " the first Zelda game for Sony's handheld." To get to Mastiff's site for customer assistance, just send your mail to FINDGURUMIN@MASTIFF-GAMES.COM.

Gurumin parasols into retail shelves - Image 1Mastiff LLC has just announced that they've shipped Nihon Falcom's Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure off to retail shelves across North America. And just in time for Valentine's.

Yep, young Parin is ready to Monster Drill her way through the parallel dimension of ghosts and spirits in this action-RPG title. The game boasts a 3D world of combat, mini-games, puzzles, multiple endings, hidden gameplay modes and characters, and a strong cast of voice actors.

Shane Bettenhausen of EGM even says that it's "the closest thing to a Zelda game you'll find on Sony's handheld." Hmm... a bold statement. Sounds promising indeed.

Thanks to the magical powers of the internet (and the people at Siliconera.com), we have some more info on the many characters that populate the world of Mastiff LLC's upcoming PSP title Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure. As an added bonus, I won't mention the word "drill" twice. Here we go.

Parin

Let's lead things off with Parin, the game's heroine. Due to her parents' line of work, she has moved a lot, making it difficult for her to make friends. Despite that, this 12-year-old is cheerful and easy going. Strong-willed, enthusiastic, and never one to back down from a fight, Parin loves strawberry shortcake, especially the ones sold in town.

Pino

Pino is a young monster girl that Parin befriends in town. As Parin is her first human friend, she becomes quite attached to her, treating her like a big sister. She’s a kind hearted girl, but is blessed with absolutely no sense of direction. In the Monster Village, she is loved and protected by all of her friends.

Santa Parin

We know you enjoyed the short video clip that we uploaded a while ago about Parin in a Santa Claus costume. But since we are talking about Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure, the key word here is "short" and not Santa Clause. Short as in you want more. And since Christmas is just around the corner, we will give you what you wished for.

Anyway, there are still a lot of pictures after the jump but before you do that, one heads-up first. Parin's costumes, in case you didn't know, are dependent on the fate on your handhelds. This means that you don't have to wait until next year just to see Parin in red overalls again. All you have to do is change the date on your PSP and presto - Santa Parin all year long!

Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure is currently being developed by Mastiff LLC. It is expected to be released February 13 of next year. Hmm, we wonder if she'll also be wearing some Cupid costume by then...
