Tekken 6 - Image 1It's only been a day since Tekken 6 hit retail (officially, at least), and already it's making its way into the record books - the Guinness Book of World Records, in particular. Taking a look at the action down at the London MCM Expo over the weekend, Guinness officials crowned the new record holder for the longest Tekken 6 winning streak.

Namco Bandai - Image 1You can really feel the gaming expo heat building up when more and more publishers start handing out their lineups. We've seen quite a lot of games coming to TGS 2009 by now, and adding to that list is Namco Bandai, bringing games from franchises that the merged companies are well-known for.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1Official firmware 5.5 started rearing its head recently with reports of new PSP games coming with it and requiring gamers to update in order to play them. It seems the G.I. Joe game is the first US-release title to carry it, although the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is reportedly carrying the update as well. So far, we haven't seen any official announcements from Sony, and neither have we heard anything from the usual firmware-breaking teams. Hopefully this changes soon. Anyway, on to the recap!

Tekken 6 - Image 1Jin's not the only one getting a costume designed by manga artists in Tekken 6 (PlayStation 3Xbox 360, and PSP). New fighters Lars Alexandersson and Zafina will be getting their own lavishly-designed costumes as well.

PSP Weekend Warrior - Image 1A rather vocal portion of the PSP userbase has been calling for an addition analog nub to be added to the Sony handheld for years now. The conspicuous lack of a second nub on the new PSP Go has since reignited the call, but this week we got what I believe is a rather reasonable answer from Sony: It's just not the right time. Since Sony's shooting for a ten-year lifespan for their consoles, we can probably expect a dual analog PSP in, say, 2015. If the world doesn't decide to keel over and die in 2012, of course. This and more in this week's PSP Weekend Warrior.

Naruto Shippuden Legends: Akatsuki Rising - Image 1All we've had about Naruto Shippuden Legends: Akatsuki Rising on these pages so far have been screenshots, and guess what we have today? More screenshots! Just to break it up a bit, though, I've also included a trailer. It's old but it does give a better look at the game.

psp - Image 1aznag88 dropped by the QJ.NET PSP Development Forums to release his first PSP homebrew game called Naruto (Contra edition). As the title suggest, the homebrew is based on the classic NES game Contra only with an added Naruto twist.

PSP Weekend Warrior - Image 1You know all those complaints about the proprietary UMD format for the PSP? They don't really matter now because Sony wasn't planning on having it as a PSP game format for very long. In fact, the plan was to release a PSP that had no UMD drive all along. That's what Sony is saying anyway. Up to you whether you believe it or not, but one thing's clear: Sony is putting all its weight behind digital distribution. I just hope it doesn't become the standard before I get a better internet connection. All this and more in the PSP Weekend Warrior.
