In keeping with the Halloween spirit, homebrew developer Nicovideo has released a special edition of The Paparazzi RC homebrew game on the QJ.NET PSP Development forums. Aside from the Halloween-themed cosmetic change courtesy of Cloos, The Paparazzi Special Halloween plays just like the original The Paparazzi game. You're have to take a certain number of pictures of the ghoulish celebrities that pop up before your camera runs out of batteries. There are five levels in all, with the target number of pictures increasing with every level. There's no readme included in the download below, but the controls are simple and easy to figure out. You move the camera using either the d-pad or the analog stick. The X button is used to take pictures. For some Halloween fun, just unzip the archive below to your PlayStation Portable's Game150 folder and you're good to go. Homebrew developer Nicovideo dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released a new game called The Paparazzi RC1. Just like the name implies, players take on the role of a paparazzi reporter taking snapshots of the different Hollywood celebrities non-stop. The controls are rather simple and we had fun chasing down the celebrities as they appear and hide behind the bushes. The objective of the game is take a set number of pictures for each level. Speaking of which, there are five different levels in this game and the number of required pictures increases per level. There's a time element in the game as your camera will run out of battery after a couple of minutes. You have to reach the objective before you run out of battery. Every once in a while, you won't be able to take a clear snapshot of the celebs because of a passing horse, a PSP truck, and others. If you really are wondering, some of the celebrities put by Nicovideo in this version include Jennifer Aniston, Emma Watson, Johnny Depp, and Darth Vader. Any game that has Albert Einstein in it is definitely going to be hilarious, and it's the same with homebrew coder Nicovideo's latest homebrew creation, MathematiX. Simplicity in its finest, this game should be a great time-waster for those of us who don't get a cold sweat every time we see long strings of complicated mathematical formulae. The game itself is simple - playing as Albert Einstein himself, you're tasked to catch all the mathematical formulas falling from the top of the screen. Every catch gains you points, but be warned - ever formula you fail to catch will be counted against you, as well. Simple, clean, and sporting a sepia tone-ish artistic look that sets it apart from other homebrew games, it's quite the find. We can't stop laughing at how ol' Albert is looking at us scared out of his wits, though. Enjoy the game! The first XtreamLua/Gx-MOD Lua contest
held last December by sites XtreamLua.com and Gx-MOD.com was considered
a big success, so the two teamed up again to bring us XtreamLua/Gx-MOD
contest 2007. Developers sent in their homebrew games and applications
for the PlayStation Portable and the Nintendo DS. Gx-MOD has provided
the prizes this time around: 125 EUR for the first placer, 75 EUR for
the second placer, and the third placer gets a UMD of GTA: Vice City Stories.
We're giving you the first batch of the contest finalists, so check them out and see how these homebrew games play for you. XtremBattle v0.1 Developer: sabbator This is designed like a fighting game where the characters are taken from various manga series. In the screenshots here, we see Monkey D. Luffy and Kurosaki Ichigo getting ready for battle. Try out the game and tell us what you think. Download: XtremBattle v0.1 Darkyrinth v0.1 Developer: Nicovideo In this game, players have to find the exit out of various labyrinths, all the while trying to avoid obstacles as they go through the mazes. Nicovideo's creation comes in 2 versions, one for PSPs running on FW 1.50, and one for those using OE custom firmware. Before trying this game out, read this disclaimer from the dev first: "This version contains four different levels and an introduction for the firmware 1.50 (not for mow firmwares OE in order to avoid a bug, the author who has not been able to test its play on these firmwares)." Enjoy the game! Download: Darkyrinth v0.1 for FW 1.50 Download: Darkyrinth v0.1 for OE FW The rest of the homebrew games at the Full Article. |
