Because we just can't get enough of Sephiroth, here's a clip with him fighting Genesis (SOLDIER First Class) in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. We won't be able to follow the storyline as close as we'd like considering the dialogue is rendered in Japanese, but the gist is easy enough to follow.
A sparring match between Sephiroth and the two other SOLDIERs, Angeal and Genesis quickly turns into something more heated. Genesis goes after Sephiroth with a will, probably spurred on by a personal agenda. Meanwhile, the current owner of the Buster Sword, Angeal, tries to break it up. But before we go too much into it and spoil it for you, here's the clip. Enjoy: Plenty of thanks to Cheska for the tip! |

We've already given you several reports on the things that were revealed during the Square Enix Party 2007. If you add up what's reported so far, you'll get a whole lot of words and descriptions on how things were. So to balance that out, here's some photos of the event, from the official site itself. Behold:
These are just images from the "Start" of the party, we're hoping that more will flood into the Interwebs in time. Why is this newsworthy? Well, if you're one of the biggest RPG companies in Japan, and you throw a party that half-doubles as a press conference for your up and coming game titles, people just have to report on that. And here we are, doing just that. We'll update you when we get more pictures. Stay tuned. (If you can read Nihonggo, we suggest you head to the official site yourself via our "VIA" link below) More photos after the Jump |

Another Japan-only anime-based game is getting ready for launch, and this one deals with Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. The game by Cyber Front is titled Secret of Evangelion Portable - a PSP port of the Secret of Evangelion adventure game previously released to the Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2). Details are a bit sketchy at this point, though PSP Hyper reports that compared to its PS2 counterpart, the PSP version will carry additional CG event scenes, and extra quizzes and mini-games which enable players to unlock more Eva-related art. Translation - more Ayanami pics, Yay! Of course, there's also Asuka... Japan's Rakuten online store dates the game for a June 28 release for this year, at an estimated price of ¥ 4,080 (US$ 34). Fellow anime/manga fans, set your calendars, and remember to bookmark Play-Asia for this upcoming release... Shanghai-ing a friend proficient in Nihongo might help too. |

The source for this one is in Japanese, and given the unwieldiness of online translation engines, if anything here seems a bit off, feel free to point it out in the comments. Games Watch reports that the PSP Version of Tales of Destiny 2 will include some additional content. There will be three new characters, an illustration gallery, and a new anime opening movie (screens of which you may have already seen).
Tales of Destiny 2 is set to hit retail in Japan on February 15, 2007. For more screens of the new opening movie, and the original Nihongo report, feel free to use our read-link below. |
