Hat peripheral of Headplay device - Image 1Inspired by the need to experiment with something new, we at QJ decided to test the Headplay unit yet again. Granted this wasn't our first time to do so, but it was our first time to test the Headplay gear in conjunction with a portable game console that supported S-video. Thus, the PSP Slim and Lite became the guinea pig for our little experiment.

Kratos' armor and Blades of Chaos spotted in Ninja Theory's Heavenly Sword for the PS3 - Image 1

Anyone who's already beaten the recent hack-and-slash fantasy action game by Ninja Theory, Heavenly Sword, might already have stumbled onto this little Easter egg left by the developers when playing Kai's mission in the third chapter. It seems as if an infamous God of War has carelessly left his signature weapons and armor hanging in the armory just for the taking. Curiouser and curiouser indeed.

Of course, knowing that both Heavenly Sword and God of War were both published by Sony, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that little cameos like these can be slipped into the two similarly themed games. Coincidentally, this may be a deliberate move by the developers to give fans a little glimpse of what Kratos (or at least his equipment) might look on the PS3 some time in the near future. Still, it's nice to know that even the people who put a lot of time giving gamers hours and hours of fun in front of our consoles have a sense of humor.

Another noted insertion into the game was noted by Dubbedinenglish, a poster on the PlayStation forums. He also noted a reference when Kai was getting the password from the commander, saying: "Or shall I hit you in your weak spot for massive damage?" (a reference to the combo notes in God of War) Time will only tell if Sony finally decides to release a next generation version to the fabled God of War series.

It was a big pity though that Kai opted to pick up the Heavenly Sword instead. Who knows how different Nariko (and the game) would have turned out if she started swinging the Blades of Chaos at her opponents.

Midway Games' Stranglehold - Image 1

The results are in for GameFly's most requested games for the week ending September 7. Last week's "All platforms" chart sees Midway Games' Stranglehold overtaking 2K Games' Bioshock, which has sunk to fourth place. Second in the list is Electronic Art's (EA) Medal of Honor: Airborne, with Bungie Studio's Halo 3 sitting comfortably at third. Meanwhile, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare caps the list at number five.

As some readers may have noticed, last week's most wanted has effectively been dominated by 360 titles. You may also notice below that the 360-specific chart is exactly the same as the "All platforms" chart.

For the other top picks in their specific platform chart, we have Nintendo's Metroid Prime 3: Corruption going strong as the most wanted for the Wii console, with Ninja Theory's Heavenly Sword making its cut as the PlayStation 3's top pick. For the portables, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass holds first place for the DS; Capcom's Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is currently the PSP's most wanted game.

The Heavenly Sword official website is now up and running, it even offers a few videos and an area that allows registered site visitors to download fan packs that should contain artwork from the game. The bad part? Well, all that goodness seems to be reserved for UK visitors. Below are two screenshots of what the UK site for Ninja Theory's Heavenly Sword looks like:

And below is the North American page:

US page - Image 1

See the difference? Of course, it could be that the folks responsible for the US page have something up they're sleeves and they're still preparing to release said creativity upon the Internetz, but that's just probably us being nice.

UPDATE: It seems that other folks went past what yours truly did and instead of just mining the European pages for information, since the US page is oh so amazingly blank, they went a step further and checked out the META tags for the Heavenly Sword Site using the view-source function of your browser of choice. What turned up?

What's the big update? Get it after the Jump.
