PSPHostAnd if you thought v1.9 was the last version of this incredibly useful app, well then, you're so wrong. danny_kay1710 has just upgraded PSPHost to v2.0.

PSPHost (formerly known as PSPLink) is a graphical interface support for NETHOSTFS, USBHOSTFS, PiMPStreamer, and WiFi Controller. Like we said, it's darn useful.

The dev says there are no new features added to this latest version, but two major bug fixes have been made.
  • The biggest one (bug fix) being the simple fact that on a lot of computers (mine not included) NETHOST would not stay running, it would close straight away after enabling it.
  • Other fix was the timer for detecting servers was slowed down to stop using as many resources.
danny_kay1710's hoping that these bug fixes would make PSPHost v2.0 a stable enough version for him to be able to start adding new features to the app. He also says that the PSP Pack from V1.8 can be used.

Thanks to danny_kay1710 - he even saw fit to tell us QJ folks about his wonderful program himself!

PSPHostHomebrew dev, danny_kay1710 has recently updated one of his creations, PSPHost formerly known as PSPLink. In case you have no idea what in the world this thing is, it is actually a graphical interface support for USBHOSTFS, NETHOSTFS, WiFi Controller, and PiMPStreamer.

The last time we talked about it, the dev added the latest updates of DickyDick1969's PiMPStreamer. He also introduced some compatibility fixes that would be of great help to those people who aren't using Windows XP. While v1.8 was jampacked with updates, there's always some room for improvement.

In your comments, you mentioned that there we're some bugs that prevented you from maximizing the capabilities of this app, well, hopefully, danny_kay did his part. You could leave out your suggestions and other thoughts on the comments section. For now, here is the changelog:
  • Now supports and includes the drivers for 64bit operating systems.
  • Startup bug fixed where when set to start with PSPHost the USB and WiFi server folders would not be applied. The default installation directory applied instead
  • Other silly bug fixes

PSPHostWho loves danny_kay1710? We love danny_kay1710! PSPHost, the graphical interface support for USBHOSTFS, NETHOSTFS, WiFiController, and PiMPStreamer has always been a useful addition to any homebrew newbie's arsenal. Since a new version of PiMPStreamer is up, it makes sense to unveil the latest version of PSPHost as well!

PSPHost adds the latest updates for PiMPStreamer (which you can also download from us) as well as introduces some compatibility tweaks for people who aren't using Windows XP. Here's a full list of changes for you, if you're interested in seeing what PSPHost v1.8 can do:
  • Added the latest update for PimpStreamer.
  • Changed the way that applications are ended. GUI more compatible with operating systems besides XP.
  • Now periodically checks for any enabled server processes and will notify you as soon if one should end without being disabled through PSPHost. Because of this I have removed the Test WifiController option as the application will now tell you if the Wifi Controller setup quits straight after being launched.
  • Now has the ability to share all drives ("cygdrive") option for both nethost and usbhost.
  • Can now share two separate folders, one for USB and one for WiFi. So WiFi could be browsing all of your computers hard drives whilst USBHOST shares all your legally backed up ISO images.
  • Does not disable servers after changing options in the settings page, it now successfully restarts all servers running at that time.
If you think that's impressive, just use it, and you'll see the extent of the little tweaks that's been added here and there. Enjoy the app guys!

ScreenshotPSPHost 1.4 has now been updated to PSPHost 1.5. Cool, huh?

PSPHost is a GUI by danny_kay1710 that supports USBHOSTFS, NETHOSTFS, WiFiController, and PimpStreamer.

In other words, it's USBHOSTFS and NETHOSTFS with an easy-to-use interface with a couple extra things thrown in. You can easily enable or disable the server modes and allow them to run at startup. You can also change the folder that USBHOSTFS or NETHOSTFS shares to your PSP.

It used to be called PSPLink but the name was changed to avoid confusion with Tyranid's application of the same name (Tyranid's came first, but danny_kay1710 didn't realize until after the release).

From the changelog:

Version 1.5
  • Fixed in this release: Setup program wouldn't allow successful installs to anywhere other than the default directory.
Version 1.4
  • Application renamed to PSPHost to avoid confusion with Tyranid's PSPLink.
  • PimpStreamer 0.7 added.
  • Fixed in this release: USBHOSTFS and NETHOSTFS ran twice when set to run at startup. While this didn't cause any problems concerning viewing files over these hosts, it did consume more system memory than needed.
What does the future hold? According to danny_kay1710:
  • Possibly add support for reading all drives on your computer (IRSHELL request)
  • Add support for running the hosts in high priority mode. (Should fix the problems with IRSHELL music streaming)
  • Once I get Wi-Fi (so i dont have to go to someone else's house or get someone else to test it) I will create full manuals on how to use the programs, including configuring the homebrew app

PSPHost 1.4!

It's hard to be a pimp these days, what with all the laws and the codes and such. Thank goodness danny_kay1710 is here to help pimp you out. Pimp out your PSP that is.

The good developer's released version 1.4 of his PSPHost app, a GUI that supports USBHOSTFS, NETHOSTFS, WiFiController and, just to give it more pimping power, PimpStreamer v0.7. If you don't quite remember any previous versions of this app, it's probably because v1.3 and below used to be known as PSPLink. He changed the name, however, as TyRaNid already has an app called PSPLink.

The Changelog mentions some issues, aside from the PimpStreamer update:

USBHOSTFS and NETHOSTFS ran twice when set to run at startup. Whilst this didn’t cause any problems concerning viewing files over these hosts, it did consume more system memory than needed.

In any case, congrats to danny_kay1710 on his new release!
