Sierra and Radical Entertainment's Crash of Titans (Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, PSP) is the fourteenth game in the Crash Bandicoot series and has quite a few novel features that fans will enjoy. The one addition that stands out the most though is Crash's new ability called "jacking."

Some of the larger enemies (titans, as they're called) can be jacked by Crash to make them do his bidding. While it may seem like a no-brainer to just keep taking over opponents, it is very important to choose the right titan for each stage. To help you make your decision, here are some facts (with screenshots) about each one:

The first enemy on the list is the Ratcicle, one of the biggest assets of Neo Cortex's mutant army. After you jack it, you gain the Freeze Punks ability which launches two ice beams that will freeze anything it hits. The unit is listed with a threat level of three out of a maximum of five making it a good all around mount.

The second titan - Scorporilla - looks like a cross between a scorpion and a gorilla (duh!). Rumor has it that even Neo Cortex feels nervous when around these behemoths. While jacking one of these creatures is no easy task, it is well worth the effort. The special ability this mount gives Crash is called Ground and Pound, a move which has your new best friend pounding the island with both hands sending a dust cloud at your foes. No one will question the fact that it is rated at a threat level of four out of five.

Radical: We maximized each handheld's strengths in Crash of the Titans - Image 1Gaming site PocketGamer recently had an interview with several developers from Radical Entertainment regarding the new game Crash of the Titans. While the game is being released on major platforms (Wii, Xbox 360, PS2), the discussion focused on the handheld builds for the title (DS, PSP, GBA).

According to Producer Joe Selinske, both the DS and GBA versions of the game will reflect the flavor and the feel of the console versions but with a twist. He further explained that Radical Entertainment tried its best to maximize the potential of each handheld platform. This is what he said about Crash of the Titans DS:

Each one uses its own unique flair for their attacks. Use the microphone to blow fire or shoot water out at enemies; flick projectiles out to stun and damage enemies; and roll or ride on the backs of enemies as you race to the end of a level.

The PlayStation Portable version, furthermore, is more connected to the one that will be released on the PS2. "The PSP version captures the flavor and essence of the PlayStation 2 version and adds something else as you can compete and fight in arenas with up to four other players in multiplayer action", Joe Selinske added.

One unique feature that comes with Crash of the Titans is the ability of our hero to play as one of the enemies. Senior Producer Kirsten Forbes explained that variety and dynamics will come from here, not to mention the new abilities and powers the bandicoot didn't have before:

Our 'x factor' for this game is Multiple... Playable... Weapons. Rather than literally put a weapon in Crash's hands, we provide him multiple enemies he could play as. Each one of those enemies has powers and abilities the player has to use strategically to win the game.

Along with this hook, we gave Crash himself a whole slew of new abilities. He can run on walls, swing on ropes, surf on Aku-Aku's face and generally blast around. And he can fight solo, with punches, flying kicks, head-butts and combos.

All versions of Crash of the Titans are expected to hit retail stores on October 2.

The video embed above shows Radical Entertainment producer Paul Pawlicki delving into the details on their tactical shooter title for the PSP, SWAT: Target Liberty.

He basically talks about a lot of interesting stuff about SWAT, such as why they chose to port this PC original onto Sony's PSP, and what are the new stuff that PSP gamers may expect from this version. For one, there will be 12 missions for you to engage in here, as well as some new scenarios such as hostage rescue. Deviating also from the previous SWAT versions where there are four playable characters, SWAT: Target Liberty for the PSP will have only two playable characters. But, the multiplayer mode can host up to four players.

Anyhow, if you wanna know more about what else is in store for you here, just check out the vid below. SWAT: Target Liberty is set to come out this Fall.
