Homebrew coder Mediumgauge has just released the latest version of his PSP Filer application. In case you're not familiar with his work, the app, which is now at v3.1, is a homebrew file organizer for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). What makes this program especially handy is that it allows users to do tasks such as swapping out custom themes or icons directly on their PSP, instead of having to do it on their PCs.Mediumgauge has made the following changes for this version of PSP Filer:

"Dude, what does my tattoo say?" "Sweet! Now what does mine say?" "Duuude!" "Suh-weeet!" "Dooood!" "Suite?" While the rambling tattoo conversation from "Dude, Where's My Car?" keeps running through our heads, this homebrew icon pack is sure looking sweet. Or suite, whichever way you look at it. From the same guy who brought you the how-to guide on making 32-bit icons, The Blue PSP Suite is now made available for download. Although RaiderX said he didn't want to release this due to the possibility of it getting over-used by a lot of people (and we wouldn't be surprised if it did), he's been kind enough to send us a tip-off and make it available for ya'll. So, what exactly are we looking at here? Here's a rundown of the main features:

He has just set up a 32-bit icon tutorial at the boards, which should provide basic steps for beginners on how to make their own custom XMB icons via their PC to the PSP. But before you visit the tutorial, make sure to have these ready:

For those of you who've been bitten by the custom firmware bug, rejoice! One of our forum members, califrag, has been busy trying all sorts of stuff under devhook. Although it was obvious that some of the modded stuff would work under devhook, I'd still thank califrag for going through it all and giving a list of what's compatible and what's not. There is one pre-requisite though. Don't try this while you're drunk. Messing around with applications like X-Flash can be nasty if you're not in the right frame of mind. So with that in mind let's begin. What you'll need:
Once you've backed up your dump, you're ready to begin modding your Devhook firmware. The rest of the guide after the jump! |
