PSP Go - Image 1Despite lots of skepticism and disinterest surrounding the new model, Sony is proud to reveal that PSP Go sales have met expectations. Believe it or not, the PSP Go has helped PSP hardware sales to shoot up 120% since its launch on October 1st.

UMD - Image 1 Bad, bad, bad news for PSP owners who are still thinking about getting the PSP Go. If you take the plunge and do buy one, you better hold on to your UMD drive-equipped PSP. That UMD goodwill program that Sony hoped to put in place has apparently been nixed.

GamesCom 2009 - Image 1 By now every Sony watcher knows that they've booked three hours for their conference at next week's GamesCom event in Cologne. As it turns out, though, the guys from Sony won't be spending all of that time talking on stage and showing off whatever new stuff they've brought along. Get ready to spend more money - Image 1Activision's decision to raise the suggested retail price of Modern Warfare 2 in the UK to UK£ 54.99 (almost US$ 90) has raised a furor among gamers in the region. Former SCEE president Chris Deering recognizes that a conundrum exists: prices for blockbuster titles should be even higher in order to support the industry, but people "just don't have that kind of money."

PSN - Image 1Getting ready the purchase some contents on PSN Europe tomorrow? Well SCEE got you covered as they release the full list of update, one day ahead of schedule. This week, you can grab the much awaited PSN game Fat Princess, Watchmen: The End is Nigh part 2 and a demo of Numblast. A free Fight Night Round 4 DLC pack, Rag Doll Kung Fu Time Savers pack and the usual music DLC's round up the list of add-on contents. For the PSP, Unbound Saga will be available this week along with Samurai Warriors and Numblast demo.

PSP Go - Image 1News broke out earlier that French retailers have refused to stock the PSP Go, citing its lack of physical media as the primary reason. When independent retailers in the UK such as Chips and Grainger admit to not stocking the new handheld yet, the inclination is that this news is highly probable. SCEE, however, wasted no time in quashing the news.

Through this service, subscribers received access to an online community, development software, as well as a very rare black PlayStation One console that allowed devs to run their own code on the system.
