People say Jane Cavanagh, the founder of the SCi Entertainment Group, has just released the company's 2007 annual report where they revealed that sequels to the Tomb Raider, Hitman, and some of their other IPs are in development. There's an uneasy air surrounding its emergence, however, since SCi's own investors called for the ousting of Cavanagh a few months ago. To find out more, head on over to the full article.

The gaming world was recently greeted by the news of Eidos signing a beneficial deal with Time Warner, but it looks like there were some dire consequences: according to some insider sources, Eidos has laid off its PR, marketing and sales departments in what seems to be in exchange to Time Warner's financial assistance. The force is clearly with the SCi Entertainment Group, as the videogame publisher announced that revenues have risen 40% for the first six months of the fiscal year, to US$ 138 million.The majority of the revenue increase was due to product distribution according to  GamesIndustry.biz.

New products accounted for 50% of revenues to December 30, with new IP Just Cause the most successful release. SCi expects the game to hit the one million mark in terms of units sold by the end of the fiscal year and has confirmed that a sequel for Just Cause is currently in development.

One third of revenue for the first half came from the distribution of third-party titles, with sales of Lego Star Wars so far reaching a whopping 5.4 million units. The publisher also anticipates that Justice League Heroes, released in November, will also sell one million units by the end of the fiscal year.

If you are a PSP fanatic and you so love cute cartoon characters, then SCi Entertainment Group and Eidos Interactive are going to be your next best pals. Why? Because the two have just acquired the rights to 11 Warner Brothers franchises, that's why! According to estimates, the total worth of the deal will not be lower than US$ 80 million.

So, what WB franchises are we talking about here exactly? Well, most characters come from Looney Toons and Hanna Barbera and here's a rundown of some of them:

• Daffy Duck
• Road Runner
• Speedy Gonzales
• Tom and Jerry

• A Batman game based on the DC comics

Batman? OMG. Batman. The OC? Well, we are really not keen on The OC, but it sure is included in the deal. As for the other characters, we say its about time they make an appearance to today's handhelds.
