PSP Weekend Warrior - Image 1Lots of things happened this week on the QJ.NET PSP blog. A new firmware update came out, we saw some intriguing new Sony tech that'll supposedly be made available to game devs, and we also got a little reassurance from Sony that they ain't forgetting about no UMDs, no sirree. Sony - Image 1Sony just keeps on pumping out some interesting technology for the PS3 console. 3D's already been dated for next year, and there's another piece of tech that allows for ridiculously high-resolution imaging not just on PS3 but on its handheld sibling as well. That's not all: they're also making SingStar's voice recognition tools available for other developers to play with.  Check out a couple of demo videos after the jump.

PSP - Image 1 Sony's strategy for the PSP Go -- and to a certain extent, for older PSPs -- seems to target Apple's App Store directly. In the eyes of Sony Europe's head of developer relations, Zeno Colaco, they're not directly gunning for the App Store at all, but they will be doing things better by giving more support and visibility to developers.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1 There was a lot of Nanodesktop-related homebrew releases this week, so kudos to pegasus2000 for all the work. The devs behind the Custom Firmware Enabler app also managed to put out a new custom firmware version of the latest official PSP firmware. PSP Go - Image 1 The price cut on the PSP devkit has already opened PSP development to more interested parties, but apparently that's not Sony's only approach to bringing in more devs to the handheld. They're also abolishing concept approval and instituting lower price points for new games. More after the jump.

Well here's another video from the tech site Engadget to get an up-close view of the white PSP Go.
