We've gotten a few interesting bits of information on the new Sony mylo from sources close to the company. These are all unconfirmed, though, so until we hear anything official, we're tagging this report as a rumor.Anyway, the biggest feature that we hear is coming to the second-generation Sony mylo is the possible integration of PSP software. So, will it be able to run PSP games or will it be limited to PSP firmware and applications? Whatever the extent of integration, it seems the PlayStation brand is spreading onto other Sony devices. Another interesting tidbit is that Sony seems to be angling to get Sprint as a carrier for the new mylo. Of course, if Sony does get Sprint as a carrier, the mylo's price point could also go up as the original used WiFi networks to reduce connectivity costs. Here are more updates about the new mylo that we got from our sources:

If you're a retro gamer, then you'll probably be interested to know that homebrew developer CrazyC has just rolled out a new update for DOSBox v0.71. This application should allows users to play old DOS games on your PSP. The developer tried to run SimCity 2000 and Tie Fighter on his handheld with this build. While the games did run, they did so at a very slow rate. Thus, some major optimization will be needed if you expect to run anything but the most basic of games. Since this is a patch for DOSbox v0.60, there isn't any documentation included. Here is CrazyC's post on the forums that should explain most questions on the program:
This patch, when applied to DOSbox 0.60 and linked with these library functions, arwin's p-sprint and SDL (with 8-bit surface patch), gets DOSbox running on the psp. Later versions use an array too large to fit in the PSP memory for indexing memory pages while this version has high level emulation of dpmi. I've tested SimCity 2000 and Tie Fighter and they run although very slowly, a lot of optimization will be need if this will be usable. Note that stat fails if the root of the memory stick is what is being checked therefore it cannot be mounted. Mounting ms0:/psp works fine though. Also there is currently no mouse or joystick support. So download the files and try it out. Be advised though that it won't be a simple process and some programming knowledge will be necessary for you to make it work. Download: DOSbox patch v0.71 Download: DOSbox configuration file |

Homebrew coder Zx-81 dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and announced a surprise build for application PSPSSH, bumping it up to v1.0.8. We say surprise because if we recall correctly, the developer mentioned that v1.0.7 was going to be the last release. It's certainly a surprise, and a very welcome one at that. Anyway, PSPSSH is a SSH2 client for the PlayStation Portable. It is actually a port of Matt Johnston's server and client Dropbear v0.48.1 running on a variety of POSIX-based platforms. With this program, users gain remote access to their PC units allowing them to enter various commands and run scripts. Here are the following improvements to PSPSSH v1.0.8:

This post is for both ends of the gamer
spectrum. We've got a list of known GTA: Liberty City Stories cheats
for as well as
a compilation of Easter eggs, and unlockables for those hardcore
completionists out there. You know, those types that want to brag about
having killed the Emerald Weapon on Final Fantasy VII in one hit.
Moon Increases in Size At night-time, take out your Sniper Rifle and look for the Moon in the sky. Now, zoom in and shoot the Moon. The Moon will increase in size the more you shoot it. Then go back to it's original small state when you shot it enough times. It would be cool if this caused sudden tidal waves. Oh well. Smiley face On Statunton Island there is a parking lot on the top southwest corner. Look for a white staircase in-between the parking garage and the parking lot entrances on the south-side. Go up the staircase and jump on the short cement railing. Then turn east and jump up on the roof over looking the parking lot (Liberty City Tree Building) and run across the roof to the other side where you will see a courtyard. Jump down into the courtyard and run to the very end of the courtyard to the northwest. Then on a wall at the end of a courtyard has a white picture of a smiley face and says 'Hello Again'. This is the same spot where in Grand Theft Auto III, where a sign says "You aren't supposed to be here." Creepy ain't it? Read the Whole article for mission unlockables and more known cheats.
