On the other hand, Europe will be getting it two days from now (May 11). But still, in case some of you are still weighing your options if you will get this game or not (it's always being compared to the Grand Theft Auto franchise), feel free as well to take watch the video below.

What we have above are four new screenshots for the title and the video below is another trailer for Driver 76. As always, the video sports the funky sound and stylings of the 70s era coupled with driving and shooting action that never go out of style.

Driver 76 for the PSP - Image 1 Ubisoft and Sumo Digital's Driver 76 is currently out for the PSP - in North America atleast. GamesRadar has just posted a custom gameplay video for the video game.

The fifth video game title of the Driver series and prequel to Driver: Parallel Lines, Driver 76 is looking to impress. It features an open-world environment (which is comparable to GTA's sandbox) and centers on driving and shooting gameplay. The new trailer showcases the first couple of missions - meeting up with Slink and hijacking a fish truck. Driving around in a very retro lavender convertible would be sweet - only if it wasn't stolen.

Driver 76 for the PlayStation Portable is set for release in May 11 for Europe. Anyway, you can check out the video by clicking the Read link below. Enjoy!

Driver '76 - Image 1Driver '76 for the Sony PSP, the newest installment in the Driver series, has shipped to retailers today according to an announcement from video game publisher Ubisoft. The game comes with a MATURE rating and is available for a suggested retail price of US$ 39.99.

This prequel to Driver: Parallel Lines is the first all-new iteration of the famed Driver series to be released since Ubisoft acquired the Driver franchise last year. Developed by Sumo Digital Ltd. and Ubisoft's Reflections studio, the game features Hollywood-style car chases while also letting the player experience the game's 70s-based open world environment on foot.

Driver '76 also comes with quite a few mini-games and multiplayer features. Players can also customize their rides as they roar through the game's 27 all-new missions.

We can't talk about Driver 76 without talking about its mission-based driving gameplay. After all, this is the video game title's very heart and core. Just like what we have for you today, it's actually about the game's "Car Towing" feature. Here, what you must do is tow a certain vehicle and bring it back to the garage in one piece.

It's just a bummer that Driver 76 got delayed for a few weeks. But no real worries there, as developer Sumo Digital and publisher Ubisoft already assured fans of a concrete release date, that's May 11 if you really want to know. The game will feature several other modes apart from this one, and around 40 different vehicles that you can customize.

Driver 76 is part of the long-running Driver franchise of video games and is often compared to Grand Theft Auto.

For something that looks like a retro version of Grand Theft Auto, Driver 76 PSP certainly has a lot more to offer players. We got two new gameplay videos for the Ubisoft and Sumo Digital videogame.

Driver 76 features some gameplay that sets it apart and they are showcased in the two trailers. First one is entitled "Protecting the Truck". The player is on the back of a pick up truck and they're being chased by a bulldozer. The other one on the other hand shows "Watch Those Turns" gameplay where players get to drive a tow truck stealing parked cars for parts. The owners are not going to let you get away that easy though.

So get on those retro shades, put up that Afro, and the bell bottom pants. While we're waiting for Driver 76's release for the PlayStation Portable, watch the videos for a couple of pointers. Enjoy!

Check out the other video after the jump!

HGZine interview with Steve Lycett, Sumo Digital - Image 1

If you've ever wondered what goes on in the process of making a PSP video game, the second issue of the free HGZIne magazine has a short interview with Sumo Digital's Steve Lycett. Simply put, it's just like working with any other console platform. Only on a smaller scale.

For example, Steve reveals that devs have 24MB out of the total 32MB system memory to play with, with 8MB taken up by the XMB. There's visual detail to scale, audio to compress, code to streamline and write (or reuse), and so on... Of course, this is speaking from experience, with Sumo Digital slaving (or having slaved) on TOCA Race Driver 3 Challenge and Virtua Tennis 3.

That's more or less it, although if you want the article unabridged - and the rest of HGZine's stories and features - you can always hit the Read link below. Oh, and there is one other thing Steve neglected to mention about PSP development. You do need a PSP devkit to begin with.

Virtua Tennis 3 for the PSP is looking great. The game being developed by Sumo Digital seems to have the same gameplay and feel like its bigger incarnations (Xbox 360 and PS3). You can see from the screenshots some of the more prominent names in tennis such as Maria Sharapova and Lindsay Davenport. Virtua Tennis 3 is to be released on March 23 in Europe, so for now, enjoy the screenshots.
