PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1It was a week full of bittersweetness -- for those who have PSP Gos at least. Team Typhoon, the fellas behind ChickHEN, blew a lot of minds by showing proof of homebrew running on the PSP Go. The bad news is they have no plans of releasing their HEN. There's still hope, though. Homebrew dev Freeplay is still hard at work on developing an eLoader for the download-only handheld.

typhoon - Image 1The guys behind HEN Kernel exploit is back. Davee together with the rest of Team Typhoon has posted a proof of concept video demonstrating  a 6.10 HEN exploit running on the PSP Go. But unfortunately according to Davee's post, this exploit will never be released to the public for reasons unknown. More after the break.

chk - Image 1With the release of Custom Firmware Enabler v1.0 earlier, homebrew coder m0skit0 has decided to release a mod that will enable ChickHEN to load much smoother. Now this is handy for all the PSP owners with TA-088v3 motherboards who haven't tried the ChickHEN homebrew enabler from Team Typhoon yet.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1With E3 so close, I'm sure a lot of people are looking forward to finally knowing if there's a new PSP coming out soon or not. A new PSP model would present another challenge for homebrew developers -- a brand new nut to crack with their hammers of code, so to speak. But that's in the future, and we're still stuck in the now. The now is nowhere near bad, though, as the PSP homebrew scene is still churning out some rather impressive apps and games for the Sony handheld. Read on for the rest of the PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior!

ChickHEN R3 - Image 1And you thought ChickHEN updates have reached a standstill? Heck no. We haven't even reached the yoke of the matter yet! It looks like Davee and the rest of Team Typhoon are busy updating their ChickHEN exploit to a new and very much improved R3. Just as M33 would have their custom firmwares, Team Typhoon also plans to incorporate a VSH menu and plugin support (among other features) to ChickHEN R3.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1Homebrew history was made this week when Davee and Team Typhoon finally released ChickHEN, finally breaching the PSP-3000's defenses and injecting homebrew into the lives of PSP-2000 owners whose units are equipped with the previously unhackable TA-088v3 motherboard. That's not all that happened this week though. Read on for the rest of the PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior!

Dark AlexSo we finally got the R2 version of Team Typhoon's ChicHEN exploit, and yes, homebrew is now most definitely enabled. Wondering what Dark AleX has planned? Or not planned, rather. Well, this doesn't come from DAX himself, but here's something close enough: webmaster Alek gives us updates on the ChickHEN exploit and clues us in on Team M33's plans.

ChickHEN update - Image 1Let's try this again, shall we? Team Typhoon has released R2 of their ChickHEN Homebrew Enabler. If you'll recall, the release we got yesterday only booted to a HEN environment but didn't really let you run homebrew. This one does.

PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior - Image 1While the PSP homebrew scene took a backseat to the sheer amount of new software announced for the PSP this week, Davee and Team Typhoon did manage to steal back the spotlight via their video of the 5.03 Homebrew Enabler in action. Another update in the form of a pic showing gpSP running on a PSP-3000 also made it in time to be included in this week's roundup of the hottest PSP homebrew news. Read on for the PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior!
