Kingdom Hearts - Image 1Last time, we brought you the trivia about Dissidia originally being made for the PlayStation 2. Today, we have another delightful small-talk piece concerning the game that every PSP owner's got to be waiting for, Dissidia: Final Fantasy. This time, it's about DFF originating from Kingdom Hearts.

Kingdom Hearts - Image 1In an interview with Ultimania back in May, Tetsuya Nomura let out a lot of info about the Kingdom Hearts series, spanning from Kingdom Hearts II, to Birth by Sleep, Coded, and 358/2 Days, and the relevant plotlines that each of these games have with each other. Our focus today is on the one we know the least about - the elusive Kingdom Hearts III.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy - Image 1This is definitely interesting. Did you know that Dissidia: Final Fantasy was originally intended to be developed for the PlayStation 2 and not the PSP? Why the change in platforms? Find out in the full article.

Dissidia: Final FantasyBack in January, Square Enix's very own Tetsuya Nomura revealed that plans for a sequel to Dissidia: Final Fantasy were actually already in place, but eventually fell through the cracks. However, to spark a bit of hope, he also mentioned that if fans demanded it enough, Dissidia II might really happen in the future. Back then, I suggested we do a petition for it, now though, it looks like Square Enix will be listening to fans in terms of actual software sales.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII - Image 1Just a reminder, guys, in case you forgot: aside from the upcoming US release of Dissidia: Final Fantasy, the Sony PlayStation Portable is still set for more FF goodness by way of Final Fantasy Agito XIII. In a recent Famitsu interview, character designer Tetsuya Nomura gave a teensy update on how the game's coming along so far.

Sephiroth - Image 1So we've got the original FF7 game, Dirge of Cerberus, and Crisis Core. Plus of course, other installments in the FF7 universe. (Sorry, Dissidia and KH are not part of FF7 canon, for obvious reasons.) Looks like those who were wondering whatever happened after the end of Dirge - much less those still insisting on a remake of the original - may have to wait a long while yet - and by saying "long while" that's an optimistic outlook. More like "never" than "long while" actually.

PSP Weekend Warrior - Image 1Thanks to the recently-concluded Game Developers Conference, we had a glut of news bits this week. Some of them are still quite vague, like Sony's awesome new game title (the title's awesome. I have no idea what the game's like) and the hints about a new Square Enix game, but we did also get some definites this week. For example, we got a few details about the songs in Rock Band: Unplugged as well as more proof that Apogee doesn't just trade in vaporware. All that and more in this week's PSP Weekend Warrior!

Kingdom Hearts - Image 1The latest issue of Famitsu includes an interview with Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura. While the entire interview encompasses other games and franchises (FF13, Advent Children - most of which have already been discussed here), the more interesting bit involves the Kindgom Hearts series - they're making a special announcement next week! Could it be for any of the three portable KH games... or Kingdom Hearts 3?

Dissidia: Final FantasyEnterbrain's figures for overall January sales in Japan are out! For the second month counting, Dissidia is on top of the food chain once more. Tetsuya Nomura should be happy - here's hoping this nudges him further into resurrecting plans for a sequel. For those who are asking, yes, Wagamama Fashion Girls Mode is still going strong. Gurlz, reprezent!
