The lucky folks at the UK Official PlayStation Mag got first dibs on Hideo Kojima's masterpiece, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. And guess what? The game got a perfect 10. Playing commercial puzzle games is a good idea, but sometimes you just get that urge to play something a little closer to home - homebrew that is. As 08-08-08 drums ever so near, it's not very surprising to find some Olympics themed video games in the works. Publisher Ghostlight has just released a batch of screenshots for one such title, International Athletics. It's slated for release on both the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS handhelds. Gasp! A game actually bumped off the Mario games from the top of the charts in Europe! Will wonders never cease? Wii Fit has debuted on top in Europe, raking in almost US$ 32.5 million in its first week, making it the third largest video game release in Europe in terms of value. More in the full article.

We got an interesting tidbit of information regarding the report on video games made by TV psychologist Tanya Byron. Apparently, the whole study that was released this year had a whopping total amount of about US$ 544,000. Details can be found after the jump.

It seems like SCi Entertainment is finally getting into the role of the reluctant "father", ready to give away his daughter (i.e. Lara Croft) at the altar. It was confirmed recently that SCi will be entertaining the possibility of opening a major business investment in the near future to help get the company back on track.
