Access_Denied, now posting as Altimax, dropped by our forums to announce an updated version of his Unit Converter application. As the name would imply, Unit Converter can convert measurements from one particular unit to another, such as inches to centimeters. Built from the ground up, Unit Converter v0.9 fully converts length, weight, volume, area, and temperature. Access_Denied says it needs some added work before he can release it as version 1 though, because he's been unable to get data conversions working properly on the application. Still, in its current state, this is a solid app for anyone who wants a quick and easy way to convert units of measurement. As with any PSP application, you'd do well to check the readme. It has instructions for installing the application, as well as info on how to use it. Enjoy! Download: Unit Converter v0.9 Visit: PSP Development Forums |

Access_Denied from the forums is hard at work today as we can see from this latest release; Unit Converter v0.4 for PSPs using the 1.0 or 1.5 firmware. As of now, his program can convert weight, length, temperature, volume, area and the newly added data (Kilobytes and Megabytes). Plenty of bugs have been fixed since his previous releases, and a few visual aspects have been tweaked. In the future we can hope to see even more improvements in the graphics department, support for more units, and possibly a new number input method. For now, be sure to download the release appropriate for your PSP. Download: [Unit Converter v0.4 for 1.0 PSPs] Download: [Unit Converter v0.4 for 1.5 PSPs] Discuss: [Forum Release Thread] |

Today, Access_Denied from our forums has released an updated version of his Unit Conversion application for the PSP. This handy little tool was first released a couple of days ago, but since then has undergone a huge makeover. With some nice looking graphics from Twin891 and a whole host of bug fixes, Unit Converter v0.2 has come on in leaps and bounds just two days after the first release, but is in no way perfect. No longer do you get loads of errors when you try to convert something. I successfully converted from Fahrenheit to Celsius with no glitches!
However, you have to remember that this is still quite an early version, and I still ran into a few bugs when testing this today. For some reason the program still thinks that 2 centimeters is equal to 2 millimeters, 3cm to 3mm and so forth. Also, if you go below 0, the readout goes off the screen; and although anything above 1 works, you cannot get it to go back to exactly one. These are nitpicks, and the application still works pretty well on the whole. Expect weight support and more bug fixes for the next version in days to come! Fw 1.5 and 1.0 binary versions are included in the download. Download: [Unit Converter v0.2] Discuss: [Forum release thread] Update: We reported earlier that Access_Denied's Unit Conversion application for the PSP is experiencing some problems with minor bugs. Well Access_Denied is on a mission to make his project one of the better apps around as he come up with a new version that has fixed 5-6 of those bugs. According to him, he also "have added weight support". FW 1.5 and 1.0 binary versions are included in the download below so why not give this one a go? Download: [Unit Converter v0.3] |

Access_Denied, has released a very simple, yet effective program for the numerically challenged. Unit Converter v0.1, with lack of better word, converts one unit of measurement to another. You can now know how many inches there are in a mile or vice versa, on the fly. Currently, when asked what type of unit you would like to convert, the only functioning option is Length. So, if you're going to have deal with Area or Weight, this application is of no use to you at the moment. Since it's the first release for the program, there are still a few glitches that need to be ironed out. According to Maniakc's forum post, when he tried to convert millimetres to centimeters, it showed that 100 centimeters is equal to 10 centimeters. I also got this error message when trying to convert millimetres to inches.
Also, when I tried converting centimeters to miles, it failed to convert.
Aside from making more "Math class friendly" by fixing those conversion errors and adding some equations for area and volume of shapes, there is also a sort of background and icon contribution going on over at the forum, to rid it of its plain appearance. As of the moment, I think Twin891 is winning Access_Denied's favor. Granted you can bring your PSP to school, Math class won't be as scary when you have this application on. However, the QJ crew strongly advise you, youngsters out there, not to use this to cheat during your exams. The easy way out isn't always the best way, you know.
