thumb - Image 1The Neuros OSD is the successor to the popular Neuros MPEG4 Recorder 2 we reviewed a while ago. With a  higher recording resolution, Ethernet support and a USB host, the Neuros OSD allows you to digitize you favorite video content (DVD, VHS tapes, TV shows, …) in the MP4 format for playback on your TV or your portable devices.

Tag this as off-topic. This is not news. This is however, something that may be a bit entertaining if you're a Tekken fan. Consider this the byproduct of beer, too much Tekken: Dark Resurrection for the PSP, and a VHS/betamax marathon with buddies.

In this post, this blogger will point out a few observations regarding some Tekken fighters. Particularly, with which real-life celebrity they might've been based on.

Let's start with the obvious ones.

Law, Lee, Lei, and Chan

Yeah, most Tekken characters are inspired by pop-culture martial arts heroes and anime cliches. With characters like Law and Lei, the reference is pretty obvious, but with some other characters it isn't quite that immediate. For example, anyone remember Cynthia Rothrock?

More on Cynthia, Arnie, B-Movie villains, and Connan O'Brien after the Jump!

Xvid4PSP

Winnydows has released another version of his popular video file conversion tool for the PC, Xvid4PSP, bringing it up to version 4.009. Xvid4PSP is a video conversion tool that allows you to  convert pretty much every video format possible into a format playable on PSP. It can input AVI, DIVX, and WMV formats and convert them to PMP 2.01, PMP AVC, AVI, MP4 (AVC), and MP4 (PSP AVC). Many QJ readers use this user-friendly application because you can also use it to convert normal PC videos  as you have AviSynth v2.56a and the .NET Framework 2.0 installed, eliminating the need for other video converters.

We have seen many new releases of Xvid4PSP lately - Winnydows must be working really hard! It shows in the hefty changelog:

4.009 changes:
  • All audio edit now done through avisynth.
  • Now possible to use DTS sound tracks in DVD encoding.
  • DVD and MPG conversion types now use NicAudio.dll.
  • Multichannel sound tracks now used DolbySurround II Downmix (only DVD and MPG type).
  • Added ColorMatrix option. Enhances color proof in DVD and MPG types encoding.
  • Fixed encoding in AVISource mode. Mencoder don't hang any more. Video don't crash to blocks.
  • Added EnhancePAL option. Can help remove color noise from VHS-TV PAL movies.
  • Added mp2 import.
  • Now settings of preview form saved only if button Ok pressed.
  • Fixed DVD encoding with LPCM soundtrack.
  • Fixed Import file parametrs now reset each time file added. Improve many crashes and incorrect crop detection.
  • Maximum crop values enhanced
Thanks for sending this in, Winnydows!
