It's been a while since we last heard about the Castlevania movie, and now we get news of the ambitious project being postponed due to an ongoing writer's guild strike. Will this game-to-movie adaptation ever see the light of day, or has it been killed outright with a stake to the heart and silver bullets to the spleen? Check out the entire scoop in the full article. |

Back in October, Paul W.S. Anderson shared that production for the
long-planned Castlevania movie adaptation will soon go full swing. Prior to all this, it was believed that the story of the Castlevania
movie project will revolve around a knight from Transylvania hiding
from the Turkish Army in Dracula's castle. Well, you can all forget about that as the official plot of the movie has just been revealed. The plot after the jump! |

PSPs in North America will be bathed in some vampire blood this Fall as Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles gets released around that time. To help you tide you Castlevania fans over, here are four new screenshots of the game courtesy of French gaming website JeuxFrance.
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles will be a three-in-one punch of vampire-killing goodness. Getting the focus here is a re-tooled and powered-up Rondo of Blood, a Castlevania title that never made it to U.S. shores before. Apart from the usual enhanced graphics and a few storyline tweaks, this remake is pretty much a straight port. Rounding out the threesome are unlockable versions of the original Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night, with the latter getting better voice acting. |

We have here for you four new movies from Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure, all ready for download at the mere click of a button. The four movie feature Parin's vampire and monkey costumes, fire parts for the Legendary Drill, and the Pierre summon. It's only been out for a couple of days, so it's still pretty much fresh and hot off the developing studios. But still, that does not mean you can't get a hold of any other new stuff on it. So, here you go. Four movies in one post. Really, this can't get any better than this. Unless, of course, you actually get the game for yourself. We like RPGs, Vin Diesel likes RPGs, and we can assure you both groups of people we just mentioned are suckers for a good D&D game. And if you've been watching just how many trailers we've been popping up here for the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons title for the PSP, you'll know we're very interested in what the game offers to geeks like us who like our RPG's the way we like our women - sophisticated, intelligent, and in their 20's (D20's, that is). With that in mind, we picked up an short interview Gaming Nexus conducted on Eric Grossman, Atari's producer for D&D Tactics for the PSP. Eric was very excited to be talking about this installment, all the more with its rich heritage and the strong fanbase behind the franchise. The game, according to Eric, will be based on the D&D 3.5 ed rule set. To give some of you guy an idea of what it might look like on a tabletop, Eric also gave some examples of game scenarios: "Anastriana attempts to make a Hide check at the current location The gameplay calculates these factors for you in-game, so those with an aversion for numbers will be happy to know that all they have to do is play, and the game's engine runs everything else. More on the interview details after this jump! Pre-Order: [Dungeons and Dragons Tactics] |

After releasing CPS2PSP v1 two days ago and then fixing some of its bugs yesterday with the updated romcnv.exe v6, NJ is back in the limelight (is he ever away from it?) with the release of the PSP homebrew emulator's source code. Yes the source code is now out there.NJ's CPS2PSP emulator has been hailed by many QJ readers as heaven sent. The CPS2PSP emulates the now classic CPS-2, or Capcom Play System 2. The CPS-2 is an arcade system board introduced by Capcom in1993. The list of games released for CPS-2 is a virtual list of the best video game franchises ever developed including Super Street Fighter, Rockman, Dungeons and Dragons and more. Konami has released their upcoming fall releases, but sadly, there are no next-gen titles included in the list. But it's all good, we know you guys are luvvin' your DS and PSPs, right? This fall, Konami will be bringing two animated franchise series to consoles: Warner Bros.' Xiaolin Showdown and Winx Club. Winx Club: The Quest for the Codex is based on the animated series which currently airs on 4Kids TV. Also set for release this fall are Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and Marvel Trading Card, both of which actually seem interesting, and will most probably bring out the cute little kid in you (okay, maybe not so much the 'cute' part...? Haha). Slated for a fall release for both the DS and PSP are Marvel Trading Card Game and Xiaolin Showdown. Also available for the PC, Marvel Trading Card Game features the complete gang of characters: Spiderman, X-men, the Avengers, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four, The Hulk, etc. You can also go online in cross platform to take on your foreign friends. Xbox and PS2 users will also get to play Xiaolin Showdown, where you get to flaunt your martial arts skills, wits, and the mystical powers of the Shen Gong Wu to save and protect the world from evil. Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin comes to the DS with new adventures of vampire hunter Jonathan Morris and his magical friend, Charlotte Orlean. Join the two as they stop Dracula from being resurrected in the midst of World War II chaos. Winx Club: The Quest for the Codex will also be making its way into the DS this fall, enabling players to dance, fly, and design outfits for their avatars in mini-games. Also made available on the GBA, you can trade unlocked clothes and accessories wirelessly with your DS and with the Link Cable for the GBA. Winx Club will also be clubbing with your PSPs via Winx Club: Join the Club. Join the fab fairies from the Alfea school as they try to come between Lord Darkar and his power-tripping plans by securing the pieces of the emblem before Darkar gets to them and uses the emblem's magical abilities to fulfill his dark and sinister plans. Be sure to check back with us for Konami's next-gen releases as we will be updating the site with more news on game releases. |

Blood+ The Final Fragment

If there is one thing that frustrates an anime fan, it's when an anime fails to
answer all the mysteries that has captivated its audience. We have seen
the likes of people who have devoted their lives in unfolding the
mysteries of Evangelion, and up to this date Hideaki Anno doesn't have
all the answers and has given up, like others, in solving them. Such is
the problem of another cult hit among anime fans, Blood, the last
Vampire.
At the turn of the century, Japanese Animators released a classic of a film, showing the tragedy of Saya, the last living vampire, and her obligation to rid the world of fake vampires. The movie was a masterpiece which kept people wanting to know more about this mysterious vampire, hence a mammoth of a TV-series was formed in order to explain Saya and her, only to find a marketing marvel such as the Playstation Portable to finally weave the last ends together. This is where Blood+ The Final Fragment enters, the last key in order for you to finally take a peaceful sleep knowing you know one of the world's mystery.
The gameplay of Blood+ The Final Fragment works like an RPG wherein your choices may or may lead you to solving the mystery. The game proposes three endings and your choices affect how your ending will be. They also note that there is a universal ending, however the details in each ending would greatly vary. In Final Fragment, you will explore the mysteries of your father as you traverse through your next missions and your encounters. The gameplay promises to have the same graphics as the anime. The website has not discussed further on how else will the gameplay will go other than the RPG options which is more like a date simulator. The game also promises to have FMVs taken from the anime. |
