Homebrew developer XsavioR, known for his memory and backup app MS Master for your trusty PlayStation Portable, has released an easy installer for Noobz' and C+D's Pandora's Battery. This nifty little applet that runs on Windows should have enough information for folks preparing to unbrick their PSPs, plus it offers a one-button solution to execute Pandora's Box.It's pretty straightforward, as XsavioR admits, so there's no FAQ to go with the easy installer. The developer does offer a step-by-step procedure, dotted with critical essentials, to using Pandora's Box Easier-Installer. But requirements inherent to the Pandora's Battery procedures must be strictly adhered: an extra battery to act as the "jigkick" is mandatory. The process is as follows:

XsavioR has updated his memory restoration and backup application MS Master to have an important additional feature. MS Master v2.05 now has an automatic update feature that occurs at startup after the installation of MS Master v2.05. Here's what he had to say about the new feature:
The first time you install 2.05 the autoupdate version check will spoof your version so you can try the autoupdate feature. You will need to run the configure utility to generate the necessary drivers when an update is installed. It will run automatically when you start MS Master the next time. Once you try the autoupdate utility successfully you will not be able to update again un till a new update is posted. According to XsavioR, the next release will also include the source code for those intrepid coders who want to try tweaking the program on their own. Whether you're a coder or average user, make sure you remember to check the readme, so you can figure out how to install the application properly and don't inadvertently do something bad to your memory stick. Enjoy! Download: MS Master v2.05 |

TA-082 Downgrader minimizing keys corruption">Chilly Willy of the Exophase forums has released this 2.71 downgrader for TA-082 and TA-086 PSPs, tagged "Corruption-free". At the end of the entire procedure, whose instructions can be found in the Readme included in the package, the result is a FW 1.50 PSP.
The "Corruption-free" tag comes from this 'brew's feature which eliminates superfluous corrupted keys from the first generation of idstorage patcher. It will only corrupt those keys necessary to run FW 1.5. As it's also integrated into one package, this downgrader saves the newly-initiated into homebrew the trouble of "even knowing what idstorage is," XsavioR explained (he wrote the readme) in the Exophase forum. This package also includes HEN-D, necessary for the downgrader process. (Due props: Homebrew author credits the original TA-082 downgrader by Dark_Alex, Mathieulh, Harleyg; and 1.5 enabler by Chilly Willy.) There ARE a few words of warning regarding the use of this 'brew, though, so now, it's time for a few very red and emboldened letters to scream at you. THE DOWNGRADING PROCEDURE ALWAYS HAS A RISK OF BRICKING YOUR PSP. THE HOMEBREW AUTHOR REQUIRES THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THIS RISK, AND KNOW THAT YOU USE THIS PROGRAM AT YOUR OWN RISK. THIS DOWNGRADER IS ONLY, ONLY, ONLY FOR:
Done? If you have understood all the risks, and you find that this program is for you, Download link is below. If this program is NOT for you, you can see if the TA-082 Easy Downgrader (for 2.80) or the original TA-082 Downgrader for 2.71 Firmware with HEN-D from Dark_Alex and co. For new information not covered here, as well as questions you may have, you may be directed to the homebrew author via the source link below. And if you've downloaded this homebrew already, why are you still reading this and not the Readme?! Download: 2.71 (TA-082 and TA-086) Downgrader - Corruption-free |
